Product Description

Dimensions are similar but the new three-axle crane offers 5 tonnes more capacity. Its gross weight of 36 tonnes (12 tonnes per axle) includes 6.5 tonnes of counterweight, hook block, double folding jib and 16.00 tyres, therefore no support vehicle is needed.

Due to the change in the latest emission regulations, the 45 ton needs to be upgraded with a Tier 4 Final / EU Stage IV engine. This, in turn, causes the crane to be heavier in weight and requires modifications in the axle spacings and other aspects. Liebherr took this opportunity to improve other aspects and raising the maximum capacity to 50 ton –  Liebherr LTC1050-3.1 is born.

The increase in load capacity is partially due to the usage of higher-grade steel during the manufacturing – S1300 which has a strength of 1,300 N/sq mm.

The 50-tonne city crane features a 6-section 36-metre main boom and a 13-metre bi-fold swing-away extension with a short 1.5-metre jib integrated into it which can be offset by up to 60 degrees. The telescopic elevating crane cab can be raised to a height of 7.8 metres for improved visibility.

Designed to be a taxi crane, it as a total weight of 36 ton with 12 ton per axle load while carrying its full 6.5 ton of counterweight on board, bi-fold extension and hook block. Additional storage space for crane accessories and outrigger mats has also been added.

However, dimensions, including the turning radius has remained the same as LTC1045-3.1.

The new model also features the Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger setup, ECO mode and LICCON2 systems, while improvements on the boom have improved the load chart as well.

The crane is powered by a 354 HP, six-cylinder Mercedes Benz engine mounted at the rear of the chassis to provide the ideal weight distribution. The engine is stage IV final and meets the latest European emissions regulations.
