Key Features & Benefits

The Liebherr LTM 1080NX is a high-performance 80-ton all terrain crane, combining mobility, reach, and lifting strength in a compact 4-axle package. Designed for versatile job site use, the LTM 1080NX is equipped with a 6-section telescopic boom extending from 11.0 m to 50.0 m, capable of reaching a maximum lifting height of 49 m with the boom alone, and up to 65 m with the hydraulic tilting jib attached.

The optional jibs are 9.5 m and 16 m long and can be tilted hydraulically to 0°, 20°, 40°, or 60°, enhancing operational flexibility for angled lifting or confined space work. The crane features two winches—main and auxiliary—each with 5.7-ton line pull and hoisting speeds of 0 to 125 m/min, using 17 mm diameter rope with a rope length of 200 meters on each drum.

The slewing speed is up to 1.5 rpm, and the boom raising speed to its maximum 83° elevation takes approximately 55 seconds. Boom extension from 11 m to 50 m is completed in about 310 seconds, highlighting its quick and efficient setup.

The carrier is a 4-axle chassis (8 wheels total) designed for mobility and transportability. It has a top speed of 75 km/h and a minimum turning radius of 9.41 m (or 7.14 m with rear-axle steering). Powered by a Liebherr D936L-A6 diesel engine rated at 367 HP (2000 rpm) with 1,700 Nm of torque, it uses a ZF AS-TRONIC automatic transmission with 12 forward and 2 reverse gears. All axles are equipped with hydropneumatic suspension, including automatic leveling and variable height adjustment of ±100 mm.

The LTM 1080NX uses the LICCON II crane control system, which provides real-time data on load radius, boom angle, lifting height, and outrigger forces. Safety features include overload protection, overhoist prevention, drum rotation indicators, and hydraulic safety valves. The operator cab can tilt up to 20 degrees, aiding visibility during high-elevation lifts.

A maximum counterweight of 14.5 tons is used, modularly distributed for transportation convenience. Standard hook blocks include a 7-sheave (80-ton), 5-sheave (58.4-ton), 3-sheave (38.3-ton), and 1-sheave (16-ton) configuration, with a single-line hook of 5.7 tons also available.

Overall, the Liebherr LTM 1080NX offers exceptional flexibility and performance in the 80-ton class. With its long boom, efficient setup, intelligent controls, and agile 4-axle design, it is well-suited for infrastructure, commercial construction, and urban lifting applications.
