Product Description

The Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX5000 is a versatile crawler crane designed for heavy-duty lifting, offering a maximum lifting capacity of 500 tons at a 6-meter working radius when configured with the heavy boom (H500). This crane supports a range of boom configurations, allowing for flexible and tailored solutions across different lifting requirements.

The crane’s boom configurations include:

  • Heavy Boom (H500): Basic length of 24.4 meters, extendable to 67.1 meters, with a maximum lifting capacity of 500 tons.
  • Tower Boom (T150): Basic length of 27.8 meters, extendable to 70.5 meters, with a lifting capacity of 145 tons at a 6-meter radius.
  • Light Boom (L150): Basic length of 45.7 meters, extendable to 100.6 meters, capable of handling up to 146 tons at an 8-meter radius.
  • Luffing Jib (D): For additional reach, the crane can be fitted with a luffing jib extending from 30.5 meters to a maximum of 73.2 meters, with a total combined length of 110 meters (73.2 meters boom + 67.1 meters jib).

The SCX5000 features high and low rope speeds of 86 meters per minute and 50 meters per minute, respectively, for the main and auxiliary drums, facilitating efficient load handling during operation. The boom hoist speed is fixed at 40 meters per minute, while the jib hoisting speed reaches up to 79 meters per minute.

The crane’s slewing speed is 0.8 rpm, offering controlled and stable rotational movement, and its travel speed ranges from 0.8 km/h in high mode to 0.5 km/h in low mode, allowing it to navigate job sites effectively. The operating weight varies depending on the configuration, with a maximum weight of approximately 497 tons when equipped with the luffing jib.

The SCX5000 is powered by a Cummins KTA19-C700 diesel engine, which provides a rated output of 522 kW (710 PS) at 2,100 rpm. This powerful engine ensures reliable performance for heavy lifting and long-duration operations. The crane’s ground pressure is 850 kPa, indicating its suitability for stable operation on firm ground.

Overall, the Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX5000 is a highly capable crawler crane, ideal for demanding lifting tasks in construction, infrastructure development, and other large-scale projects. Its variety of boom configurations, powerful engine, and efficient operation make it a versatile and robust solution for heavy lifting requirements.
