Liebherr LR 1600/2-W
The Liebherr LR 1600/2-W is a 600-ton narrow-track crawler crane, specifically designed for wind turbine installation and infrastructure projects requiring high lifting capacity and maneuverability on narrow access roads. It features a 138-meter (453-foot) main boom, extendable to 156 meters (512 feet) with a fixed jib, and can achieve a maximum system height of 204 meters (669 feet) with a luffing jib. Built on a narrow 5.8-meter-wide (19-foot) crawler chassis, it offers enhanced transportability while maintaining stability through additional support systems. This crane is widely used in wind energy projects, where access to remote turbine sites requires compact yet powerful lifting solutions.

Product Description
The Liebherr LTR 1220 is a 220-ton class telescopic boom crawler crane, offering the mobility of a crawler crane with the efficiency and fast setup of a telescopic crane. It was first unveiled in 2012 at the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen before making its exhibition debut at Bauma 2013 in Germany. This crane integrates the 60-meter (197-foot) telescopic boom from the Liebherr LTM 1220-5.2 all-terrain crane, ensuring proven lifting performance with enhanced crawler crane stability.
The boom system features a bi-fold swing-away jib and optional lattice jib extensions, increasing the maximum system length to 101 meters (331 feet). This versatility allows the LTR 1220 to handle a wide range of lifting applications, from industrial construction to wind energy projects. The hydraulic telescoping system enables quick boom extension, reducing setup time and enhancing job site efficiency.
The crawler undercarriage provides excellent load distribution, allowing the crane to operate on soft or uneven ground without outriggers. Unlike wheeled cranes, the LTR 1220 can move while carrying loads, improving operational efficiency on large job sites. The hydraulically adjustable track width ensures better maneuverability, while the compact transport dimensions make relocation between job sites easier compared to lattice boom crawler cranes.
Powered by a high-torque Liebherr diesel engine, the LTR 1220 delivers strong performance with optimized fuel efficiency. The crane’s hydraulic winch system provides high-speed lifting, while the slewing system offers 360-degree continuous rotation, ensuring precise load placement and smooth operation.
Inside the spacious, ergonomic operator’s cab, the LTR 1220 is equipped with climate control, touchscreen displays, and joystick controls for intuitive operation. Liebherr’s LICCON (Liebherr Computed Control) system enhances safety with real-time load monitoring, automated limit functions, and remote diagnostics.
With its strong lifting capacity, adaptable boom configurations, and crawler-based stability, the Liebherr LTR 1220 is a top-tier choice for demanding lifting operations, providing efficiency, precision, and safety in complex work environments.
