Kobelco 7300-2 Crawler Crane

Product Description

The Kobelco 7300-2 is a 300-ton capacity crawler crane that combines heavy lifting performance with versatility in boom configuration and on-site mobility. Designed to meet the needs of infrastructure construction, large-scale civil projects, and energy plant installations, the 7300-2 builds on Kobelco’s well-regarded crawler crane platform with significant updates to capacity, reach, and operator control.

The crane supports multiple operating modes with varying boom setups: heavy-duty lift (300t at 5.0m radius), basic crane mode (180t at 8.0m), light-duty lift (100t at 12.0m), and luffing tower configuration (87.5t at 16.0m). Boom lengths vary accordingly—from 18m in heavy-duty to a maximum reach of 96m in light-duty, and up to 60+60m for boom plus luffing jib combination. Boom inserts and tower attachments like the 6m/12m straight or tapered booms allow customized configurations for project-specific lifting scenarios.

Powering the 7300-2 is a Mitsubishi 8DC9-TE1 turbocharged, V8 diesel engine producing 253.7 kW (345 PS) at 2000 rpm with a torque of 1324 Nm at 1500 rpm. This drives a high-efficiency hydraulic system consisting of five pumps (three tandem variable displacement and two gear pumps), each feeding dedicated circuits for winches, swing, and boom/jib hoists. Load hoist drums (No.1 and No.2) offer line speeds of up to 100 m/min for both hoisting and lowering, with wire rope capacities of 800 meters.

The boom hoist system uses a twin drum arrangement with 26 mm wire rope and achieves hoisting/lowering speeds of 22 m/min x 2. For the luffing jib, hoisting and lowering are rated at 27 m/min, ensuring precise placement of loads at height. The swing system offers full 360° operation at speeds up to 1.3 rpm with spring-set hydraulic disc brakes for control.

Crawling capability is supported by a steel-welded undercarriage with independently driven hydraulic propulsion on each side. Each track frame contains 13 lower rollers, 2 upper rollers, and 62 shoes (1220 mm width), allowing max travel speeds of 1.0 km/h (high) and 0.6 km/h (low), with gradeability of up to 26.8%. The ground pressure is approximately 127 kPa with standard configuration.

The operator’s cab is ergonomically elevated by 1.3 meters and tilts 15° for better overhead visibility. It includes full safety glass, climate control, intuitive multi-display monitors, and fingertip joystick controls. Integrated safety systems include overload limiters, anti-two-block, swing brakes, boom/jib angle sensors, and function locks.

With a total operating weight of about 284 tons—including an 18-meter boom and a 300-ton hook block—the 7300-2 is supported by 96,000 kg of counterweight and 22,000 kg of carbody counterweight, making it a robust machine built for critical lifting.
