Lokomo A 393 NR

The Lokomo A 393 NR represents the pinnacle of Finnish engineering in the heavy lifting sector, delivering reliable 100-ton class capacity with a combination of high-performance mechanics and user-oriented design. It is powered by a turbocharged Volvo TD 70 G diesel engine, providing a rated output of 157 kW (210 HP) and optimized for both low noise and compliance with emission standards. The engine setup includes a remote radiator and hydraulic fan motor for cooling, along with dual pumps directly driven for independent hydraulic control.

Its five-section welded boom is fabricated from high-tensile micro-alloy steel, giving it excellent torsional strength while maintaining a lighter structure. The boom extends from 11 meters to a full 45 meters hydraulically, with the optional lattice fly jib providing an additional 25.5 meters. The crane’s maximum lifting height reaches 60 meters when the fly jib is installed. The boom’s telescoping sections are supported with molybdenum-impregnated slide pads and derrick cylinders outfitted with load-holding valves for operational safety.

The main winch features a high-torque hydraulic axial piston motor with drum drives, delivering a hoisting speed of 0–90 m/min and a line pull of up to 2700 kg. An auxiliary winch option is also available for dual-hook operations. The slewing mechanism is driven by an axial piston motor with planetary reduction and features a cross roller slewing ring for precision control. Slewing speeds range from 0 to 3 rpm.

Travel is provided by the Lokomo KVR carrier, powered by a Volvo TD 120 G engine rated at 243 kW (325 HP), coupled with a SR 70 14-speed transmission (8 forward, 2 reverse plus 4 crawler gears via splitter). The suspension is a tandem beam type with a walking beam system for the rear and independent axles for the front, offering enhanced terrain adaptability and steering. The top road speed is 74 km/h.

For structural support, the T-shaped multi-box steel frame and full hydraulic outriggers ensure stability. Optional extras include a personnel carrier, auxiliary boom head for twin-hook operations, extra counterweights totaling 11 tons, and arctic-grade heating systems. The electrical system operates at 24V with comprehensive lighting and control circuits, including the Lokomo KVR Safe Load Indicator for safe lifting management.
