Key Features & Benefits
The SANY STC1100S was introduced as part of SANY’s modern high-capacity truck crane lineup targeting international markets requiring high lifting performance combined with transport flexibility and reduced setup times. The crane belongs to the 110-ton class and was engineered around a compact four-axle carrier chassis with all-wheel steering capability, enabling improved maneuverability on confined jobsites and urban construction environments. One of its notable design features is the ability to travel with 15 tonnes of counterweight installed, reducing transport preparation time between job locations.
The crane is mounted on a four-axle special carrier chassis with an overall transport length of 14,830 mm, width of 2,800 mm, and height of 4,000 mm. Gross vehicle weight is approximately 47 tonnes. The chassis uses an all-wheel steering arrangement with dual-circuit hydraulic power steering and mechanical steering limits to improve maneuverability. Minimum steering radius is rated at 10.5 m while minimum ground clearance reaches 305 mm.
Power is provided by a WEICHAI WP9H350E6 inline six-cylinder turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine compliant with BS4 emissions regulations. The engine develops 257 kW at 1,900 rpm and maximum torque of 1,700 Nm between 1,100 and 1,400 rpm. SANY equipped the crane with a 10-speed manual gearbox featuring a wide ratio spread to balance gradeability and highway travelling efficiency. The carrier achieves a maximum travelling speed of 50 km/h and maximum gradeability of 40%. Fuel tank capacity is specified at 450 liters.
The STC1100S uses a six-section telescopic boom fabricated from fine-grain high-strength steel with a U-shaped boom profile intended to optimize structural rigidity and lifting performance. Basic boom length measures 12.9 m while maximum fully extended boom length reaches 59 m. Maximum lifting height on the fully extended boom is 59 m, increasing to 76.5 m or optionally 86 m when equipped with jib extensions.
The jib system includes a standard 17.5 m jib together with an optional 9.5 m extension section. Jib offset angles of 0°, 15°, and 30° are available depending on working requirements. According to the jib load chart, the crane can utilize jib lengths of 9 m, 10.2 m, 17.5 m, 19.7 m, and 27 m depending on configuration.
Maximum rated lifting capacity is 110 tonnes while maximum lifting moment on the basic boom reaches 3,704 kN·m. Maximum lifting moment on the fully extended boom is rated at 2,156 kN·m. The crane operates with a minimum rated lifting radius of 2.5 m.
The hydraulic system uses load-sensing variable displacement piston pumps capable of adjusting pump displacement in real time to reduce hydraulic energy losses while improving precision flow control. SANY developed a dual-pump converging and diverging main valve system intended to provide smooth combined crane motions and improved controllability during simultaneous operations.
Main and auxiliary winches utilize electro-proportional variable motors designed to improve lifting efficiency and operational smoothness. Maximum single-line rope speed reaches 130 m/min on the main winch and 125 m/min on the auxiliary winch. The slewing system uses an open-type proportional hydraulic arrangement with free-slipping function for improved slewing stability and inching control. Maximum slewing speed reaches 1.8 rpm.
Boom luffing angles range from -1° to 81°. Full boom extension requires approximately 550 seconds while boom retraction requires 580 seconds. Full boom luffing up and down times are 75 and 90 seconds respectively.
The telescopic system uses single-cylinder pinning technology controlled through an electro-hydraulic system allowing cylinder pin and boom pin operations to be performed automatically. Multiple-stage pressure control together with telescopic balance valves and mechanical-hydraulic double interlock mechanisms are incorporated to improve safety and telescoping reliability.
The crane uses front swing outriggers and rear telescopic outriggers fabricated from fine-grain high-strength steel. Maximum outrigger span measures 7.8 m longitudinally and 7.91 m transversely. The outriggers can be operated through an electrically controlled automatic leveling system to simplify crane setup.
Counterweight configurations are flexible, with seven available combinations including 1.2 t, 4 t, 12.2 t, 15 t, 20.2 t, 23 t, and 29.5 t. Slewing radius with counterweight installed is approximately 4,220 mm.
The crane incorporates an intelligent CAN-bus electrical architecture enabling communication between the carrier and superstructure systems. The operator cab features a 20-degree tilting mechanism, adjustable seating, wide visibility, air-conditioning, and ergonomic control arrangements. Both the operator’s cab and driver’s cab are equipped with heating and cooling air-conditioning systems.
Safety systems include load moment indicators, height limiters, over-roll protection, anemometers, hydraulic balance valves, overflow valves, and two-way hydraulic locks. According to SANY, the intelligent load moment indicator system achieves lifting accuracy within ±5% through online load calibration and boom parameter monitoring.
The STC1100S was developed to combine strong lifting capability, long telescopic boom reach, flexible counterweight arrangements, and efficient road mobility within a compact four-axle configuration suitable for both highway transportation and demanding lifting projects.
