Kato SR-300L Load Chart PDF + Specifications
The Kato SR-300L is a 30-tonne rough terrain crane designed for construction, industrial maintenance, plant shutdowns, utility work, and general lifting applications. Equipped with a four-section hydraulically telescoping boom extending from 9.35 m to 30.5 m and a two-section offsettable fly jib extending from 7.9 m to 13.0 m, the crane achieves a maximum lifting height of 31.2 m on the main boom and 44.8 m with the jib installed. Its compact carrier, advanced ACS safety system, and four-wheel steering capability make the SR-300L particularly effective on confined jobsites where maneuverability and lifting versatility are equally important.

Key Features & Benefits
The Kato SR-300L was engineered around a compact two-axle rough terrain carrier and a high-performance hydraulic crane superstructure. With a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tonnes at a 3.0 m working radius, the crane provides a balance between lifting power and mobility that makes it suitable for a wide variety of lifting operations. The compact overall width of only 2.62 m allows the machine to travel easily on public roads and access congested jobsites that would be difficult for larger cranes to enter.
The crane is fitted with a four-section box-type telescopic boom extending from 9.35 m to 30.5 m. Boom sections are hydraulically extended, with sections three and four extending simultaneously to provide smooth boom operation. The boom can be raised from 0° to 83° using a direct-acting hydraulic cylinder equipped with a pressure-compensated flow control valve. Maximum boom lifting height reaches 31.2 m, providing substantial reach for general construction and industrial maintenance work. Boom extension from minimum to maximum length requires approximately 93 seconds, while boom elevation from 0° to 83° takes approximately 40 seconds.
To increase working range, the SR-300L is equipped with a two-section fly jib. The jib extends from 7.9 m to 13.0 m and can be offset at 5°, 25°, or 45°. When fitted with the maximum jib configuration, the crane achieves a maximum lifting height of 44.8 m. This configuration significantly increases versatility and allows the crane to perform lifting operations around structures, industrial equipment, and obstacles that may limit direct boom access.
Hoisting duties are performed by independent main and auxiliary hydraulic winches driven through planetary reduction gearboxes by axial piston motors. The main winch delivers a maximum line speed of 125 m/min on the fourth rope layer, while the auxiliary winch achieves 116 m/min on the third layer. Maximum hook speed for the main hoist reaches 13.8 m/min with a nine-part line arrangement. The main hoist utilizes 175 m of 16 mm wire rope, while the auxiliary hoist carries 95 m of the same diameter rope.
The slewing system uses a ball-bearing type swing mechanism providing continuous 360-degree rotation. Maximum slewing speed reaches 2.9 rpm, allowing fast positioning while maintaining precise load control. The tail swing radius is limited to 3.5 m, helping the crane operate efficiently in confined working environments.
Stability is provided through a hydraulic H-type outrigger system that integrates the float and vertical cylinder into a single unit. The outriggers can be deployed in multiple positions with extension widths of 2.31 m, 3.8 m, 5.0 m, 6.0 m, and a maximum width of 6.6 m. This allows operators to optimize crane setup according to available space and lifting requirements while maintaining safe lifting performance.
The hydraulic system consists of four pumps combining plunger and gear pump technology. Double-acting hydraulic cylinders and integrated safety valves ensure smooth operation of all crane functions. Hydraulic oil capacity is 500 litres, supporting reliable operation during extended lifting cycles.
Power for both lifting and road travel is supplied by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLE3A turbocharged diesel engine. This 7.545-litre six-cylinder, water-cooled, direct-injection engine develops 200 kW (268 hp) at 2,600 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 785 Nm at 1,400 rpm. The carrier utilizes a fully automatic transmission with four forward speeds and one reverse gear, combined with selectable 4×2 and 4×4 drive modes. Maximum road speed reaches 49 km/h, while gradeability is rated at 57 percent.
The steering system employs full hydraulic power steering with independently controlled front and rear steering axles. Operators can select two-wheel steering or four-wheel steering modes. The crane achieves a minimum turning radius of 8.2 m in two-wheel steering mode and only 4.9 m in four-wheel steering mode, providing exceptional maneuverability in restricted working environments.
Safety was a major focus in the SR-300L design. The crane is equipped with Kato’s ACS (Automatic Crane Stopper) system with voice alarm, an outrigger status detector, overhoist prevention system, slew automatic stop system, boom holding valves, winch holding valves, hydraulic safety valves, and joystick safety interlocks. These systems continuously monitor crane status and help prevent unsafe operating conditions.
The operator’s cab features all-steel welded construction mounted on rubber isolators. Standard equipment includes an adjustable steering wheel, adjustable seat with seat belt, front and roof window wipers and washers, and ergonomic control arrangements designed to reduce operator fatigue during long working hours.
