Product Description

The Sany SAC6000 is a powerful 600-ton all-terrain crane that was first introduced at the Shanghai Bauma Show in 2014. Specifically designed for heavy-duty applications such as windmill installation, it combines exceptional lifting capability, robust mobility, and modern electronic controls in a compact, efficient design. The crane features a 7-section, 90-meter U-shaped boom constructed from fine-grain high-strength steel, optimized for structural integrity and buckling resistance. Supplementary configurations include a fixed jib with lengths ranging from 12 to 42 meters, a tower jib from 24 to 90 meters, and a 6-meter special jib designed for wind turbine installation.

The crane’s superstructure incorporates a state-of-the-art dual-pump hydraulic system with a converging/diversion main valve that allows for fast response and stable control under different working conditions. The electric proportional variable displacement piston pump ensures accurate flow regulation with minimal energy loss, contributing to both precision and efficiency. Lifting and slewing operations are handled through independent systems that allow 360-degree rotation and smooth motion control, aided by emergency braking and closed-loop feedback for added safety and energy savings.

For boom extension and retraction, the SAC6000 uses a single-cylinder pin locking system, which offers high reliability and strength through mechanical, electric, and hydraulic triple protection. Luffing operations are supported with a range of boom angles from -0.5° to 86°, using hydraulic control and electric proportion for smooth self-weight lifting and descent. The boom system uses 13 pulleys for standard configuration and features lightweight compensation to reduce stress and deflection under load.

The 8-axle chassis provides exceptional stability and travel capability with six steering modes, including full-wheel and crab steering, allowing the crane to maneuver in tight or uneven spaces. The axles feature full-axle steering with an intelligent hydraulic suspension system for load adaptability and stability. The carrier is powered by a 480 kW (approx. 643 hp) V-type eight-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, offering a torque of 3900 Nm and compliant with Euro III emission standards.

Safety is further ensured through a comprehensive load moment limiter, overflow and balance valves, and limiters on both boom and jib. Wind monitoring systems, anti-wind rope protections, and multiple fail-safes add to its reliability during operations. Despite its class-leading capacity, the crane uses only 165 tonnes of counterweight—equivalent to the Liebherr LTM1500-8.1, a 500-ton machine—demonstrating efficient design and weight optimization. Additionally, its chassis width of less than 2.3 meters allows for more convenient transport and access in confined job sites.

With its intelligent electronic control system, human-machine interface, and real-time diagnostics via CAN-bus network, the SAC6000 not only meets but exceeds modern expectations for lifting power, flexibility, and operational safety in the 600-ton class.
