Product Description

The Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX800A-3 is a robust crawler crane engineered for medium-capacity lifting, offering a maximum lifting capacity of 80 tons at a 3.3-meter working radius. The crane is suitable for liftcrane and clamshell operations, with the following boom and jib configurations:

  • Liftcrane Configuration: Basic boom length of 9.5 meters, extendable to a maximum length of 54.5 meters. This allows the crane to accommodate a wide range of lifting applications. An optional crane jib can be fitted, with lengths ranging from 9 to 18 meters, resulting in a total boom and jib combination length of up to 72.5 meters (54.5 + 18 meters).
  • Clamshell Configuration: The crane can be equipped with a clamshell bucket with a capacity of up to 1.2 cubic meters and a maximum digging depth of 36 meters.

The crane’s winch system provides efficient lifting capabilities with front and rear main drum speeds reaching 105 meters per minute (80 meters per minute under lower load conditions). The third winch, rated for operation with a 7-ton load, operates at speeds up to 90 meters per minute. The boom hoist drum has a speed of 67 meters per minute, allowing for precise and rapid boom adjustments.

The SCX800A-3 features a swing speed of 5.0 rpm, which ensures quick and controlled rotational movements for accurate positioning of loads. The crane’s travel speed is adjustable between 1.8 km/h in high mode and 1.2 km/h in low mode, providing effective mobility across job sites. With a gradeability of 30%, the crane can navigate sloped or uneven terrain safely.

The crane is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 engine that delivers a rated output of 201 kW (273 PS) at 2,000 rpm, complying with Stage IV/Tier 4 final emission standards for reduced environmental impact. The engine ensures reliable power for various lifting and operational tasks.

The SCX800A-3’s ground contact pressure varies with configuration: approximately 87 kPa when set up with the basic boom and an 80-ton hook block, and about 90 kPa in clamshell mode with a 1.2 cubic meter bucket. The crane’s operating weight is around 76 tons in liftcrane mode and approximately 80 tons in clamshell configuration.

The SCX800A-3 combines power, flexibility, and compliance with modern emission standards to deliver a reliable lifting solution for construction, excavation, and industrial projects. Its versatile boom configurations, efficient engine, and advanced operational features make it a suitable choice for diverse lifting requirements.
