Product Description
The Tadano TL-250M-2 hydraulic truck crane, developed by Tadano Ltd., is an upgraded and refined model tailored for the 25-ton lifting class. It incorporates decades of Tadano engineering expertise to achieve a balance of strength, agility, and dependability in a compact, mobile package. The TL-250M-2 delivers a maximum rated lifting capacity of 25,000 kg at a 3.5-meter working radius using an 8-part line on its main boom. The main boom itself spans from 10.5 meters to a fully extended length of 33.0 meters and is constructed with a four-section, box-type hydraulic telescopic structure, including synchronized stage 3 and 4 extensions for smooth deployment.
For extended lifting operations, the TL-250M-2 can be equipped with a jib reaching 8.5 or 14.0 meters, delivering a total lifting height of up to 46.7 meters. The boom elevation range spans from -3° to 80°, and full extension takes approximately 110 seconds. A 2-stage swing-around type jib with dual offset angles (5° and 30°) is provided, and a single top sheave allows for single-line operations when needed.
Mobility is handled by a P-KG455 carrier powered by a PE6 turbocharged diesel engine from Nissan Diesel Motor Co., LTD. This 4-cycle, in-line 6-cylinder, direct-injection engine delivers 280 PS at 2,200 rpm and 110 kg·m of torque at 1,200 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission with synchronized gears ensures flexible control, while a final drive hypoid gear reducer provides durability under heavy torque.
The TL-250M-2 features dual winch systems—main and auxiliary—both driven by hydraulic motors through a spur gear speed reducer. Winch speeds vary between 122 m/min on the main high range (15.2 m/min hook speed) and 104 m/min on the auxiliary winch, both reducing to 52 m/min on low ranges. The winch wire rope uses 16 mm × 180 m for the main winch and 16 mm × 105 m for the auxiliary, all of which are Class B spin-resistant ropes with breaking strengths up to 17.6 tons.
Stability during lifting is enhanced by fully hydraulic H-type outriggers with independently operated side and jack controls. The full extended outrigger width reaches 6.1 meters, and the jack is hydraulically operated from the front. The crane has a rated outrigger load of 30.0 tons.
In terms of safety and operation, the TL-250M-2 comes with Tadano’s AML-K automatic moment limiter system, which monitors and displays crucial operational parameters including load moment, boom angle, boom length, working radius, and height. It also includes over-winding protection, level gauges, control locks, and several counterbalance valves for precise and safe operations.
On the road, this crane moves efficiently with a top travel speed of 60 km/h and a minimum turning radius of 10.5 meters. Weighing approximately 27,780 kg, it offers stability during both travel and lifting. Additional standard equipment includes a crane cab heater, radio, fan, and boom angle indicator. The fuel tank holds 200 liters, and the vehicle is supported by a dual-battery 24V electrical system.
In essence, the Tadano TL-250M-2 is a durable and well-engineered solution for mid-range lifting jobs requiring rapid deployment, precise handling, and reliable lifting performance across construction sites, utility installations, and industrial logistics.
