Grove RT528C

The Grove RT528C is a versatile 25-ton rough terrain crane engineered for effective lifting and mobility in off-road conditions. This crane is equipped with a three-section full-power boom that telescopes from 8.6 meters to 21.3 meters, offering a maximum tip height of 23.1 meters. The boom elevation is controlled by two cylinders with safety valves, allowing a boom angle range from 0° to 75°.

Boom and Jib:

• Optional jib: 7.0 meters A-frame, with offsets of 0°, 15°, and 30°, extending reach and versatility.

The crane integrates a Load Moment Indicator (LMI) and an anti-two-block system for safe and efficient lifting. The system provides electronic displays for boom length, angle, tip height, and relative load moment, helping operators maintain control and ensure safety during operations.

The main winch features a vane motor with planetary gearing, automatic spring-applied multi-disc brakes, and electronic rotation indicators, making it highly reliable for demanding lifting tasks.

Engine and Transmission:

Powering the Grove RT528C is a Cummins 6BT5.9L diesel engine, a six-cylinder, turbocharged engine with an output of 130 horsepower (97 kW) at 2500 rpm and a maximum torque of 523 Nm at 1400 rpm. It meets EPA and CARB emission standards, ensuring compliance with non-road regulations.

The crane is equipped with a Clark 18000 series powershift transmission that provides six forward and six reverse speeds, allowing smooth operation over varied terrains.

Mobility and Steering:

The RT528C features 4x4x4 drive and steer, with two driven and steered axles. It offers multiple steering modes, including front, rear, coordinated, and crab steering, enhancing its maneuverability in tight or rugged job sites. The rear axle oscillation is automatically locked when the boom is centered for added stability during operation.

Outriggers:

The crane’s stability is ensured by four hydraulically telescoping outriggers with inverted jacks and 419 mm square outrigger pads. These offer independent control of horizontal and vertical movement, with three-position settings and a maximum pad load of 22,795 kg.

Safety and Operator Comfort:

The RT528C provides a galvanealed steel cab, which is acoustically treated and equipped with a fixed skylight for better visibility. The operator’s seat is a deluxe model with integrated crane controls, and the cab is ergonomically designed to reduce fatigue during long operations.

Hydraulic System:

The hydraulic system includes three main gear pumps with a combined capacity of 426 liters/min, ensuring sufficient flow for smooth crane operation. The system features return line filters with bypass protection and a thermostatically controlled oil cooler to maintain optimal temperatures during heavy-duty work.
