Product Description
The TCM RTCW 35 marks the debut of Italian crane manufacturer TCM into the rough terrain crane sector, introduced in 2008. Designed with compactness, ruggedness, and operational flexibility in mind, the crane offers a maximum lifting capacity of 35 metric tonnes at a 3-meter radius when fully stabilized on outriggers using six falls of rope and equipped with a 5.5-ton counterweight.
The crane is outfitted with a four-section, octagonal-shaped telescopic boom that reaches a maximum length of 32.6 meters. The boom’s geometry, built from high-tensile steel, ensures strength and durability under heavy-duty operations. Boom extension is powered by double-effect hydraulic cylinders, and its movement is managed through an oil-dynamic sequential extension system that optimizes control and load balance during operation.
The RTCW 35 is unique for its multiple outrigger configurations. Besides full extension, it features lifting charts for partially extended and fully retracted outrigger positions, making it adaptable for operations in confined or constrained areas. Maximum capacities vary depending on the outrigger position: 35 tonnes on full outriggers, 27.6 tonnes on partially extended outriggers, and 15.3 tonnes on retracted outriggers. Additionally, the crane offers a pick-and-carry mode with a rated capacity of 5 tonnes, which enhances jobsite mobility.
The crane is powered by an N45 ENT Tier 3 diesel engine rated at 104 kW (140 hp) at 2,200 rpm. The drivetrain is matched with a Dana powershift transmission system that provides both slow and fast range selection. The top speed is rated at 40 km/h (25 mph), although Italian road laws limit this to 25 km/h (15.5 mph) for public transport.
RTCW 35’s suspension is rigid on the front axle and rocking on the rear axle with two hydraulic jacks for automated oscillation control. The crane is equipped with four tubeless tyres, with options for either 16.00 R25 or 20.5 R25 sizes, depending on operational needs. The braking system comprises dual drum pneumatic circuits, and the crane can also be fitted with a four-disc brake system as an optional upgrade.
The upper structure is capable of 360° continuous rotation via an epicycloidal reducer powered by a hydraulic motor. A multi-disc brake immersed in oil ensures secure braking during operation. The winching system uses a planetary reducer and an oil-bath sintered multi-disc brake, capable of two-speed automatic shifting. The hook block supports a maximum lifting load of 40 tonnes and includes 6 pulleys for multi-line lifting applications.
Operator comfort and safety are also emphasized. The crane features a spacious full-vision steel cab with safety glass, air suspension seating, and an ergonomic dashboard. Optional features include a movable cab using hydraulic controls, auxiliary heating, and additional lighting packages. Safety devices such as boom angle indicators, hook over-hoist limiters, pressure limiters, and electronic load limiters are standard.
Weighing approximately 27.2 tonnes including counterweight, the RTCW 35 has compact transport dimensions of 10 meters in length, 3.2 meters in height, and 2.5 meters in width. Its fully extended outrigger width is 6.7 meters, allowing for high stability during lifts. The crane is designed in compliance with EN and DIN standards such as EN 13000, EN 12999, and DIN 15018.
In conclusion, the TCM RTCW 35 is a well-balanced, rough terrain crane that offers solid lifting capabilities, versatile outrigger configurations, and pick-and-carry functionality. It is ideal for jobs that require both maneuverability and performance on uneven or confined sites.
