Product Description
The Zoomlion RT60 is a 60-ton rough terrain crane developed for demanding construction and industrial lifting applications. It debuted during the Bauma China 2014 and is part of Zoomlion’s robust lineup for heavy-duty field performance. At its core is a Cummins QSB 6.7 Tier III-compliant turbo diesel engine, producing 160 kW (215 hp) at 2,500 rpm and peak torque of 888 Nm at 1,500 rpm. This engine is paired with a Dana powershift transmission that provides 6 forward and 3 reverse speeds, achieving a top travel speed of 41.4 km/h.
The crane is equipped with a four-section, fully synchronized 43 m high-yield steel boom, with a retracted length of 11.4 m and a maximum tip height of 45.4 m. When combined with a 10 m + 7 m (total 17 m) jib, it can reach a maximum lifting height of 52.4 m. The jib is offsettable at angles of 0°, 20°, and 40°, providing flexibility for high-reach applications.
Outrigger performance is a standout feature. The RT60 utilizes four independent horizontal beams with vertical jacks and integral holding valves, offering three operational positions: fully retracted (19 m² footprint), mid-extended (33.32 m²), and fully extended (47.6 m²). This gives it excellent adaptability for limited or uneven job sites. The total floating ground bearing area is 1.1 m² and the chassis maintains good off-road stability with 30% gradeability.
The crane’s swing mechanism features bi-directional hydraulic drive with a planetary reduction gearbox and multi-disc wet brake, achieving a swing speed of 2.5 rpm. The hydraulic system is powered by PERMCO gear pumps dedicated to each function—winches, boom, steering, and outriggers—with a 700-liter reservoir and a 28 MPa max operating pressure.
Main and auxiliary winches offer a 7-ton maximum line pull and a line speed of 0–150 m/min, utilizing 19 mm rotation-resistant wire ropes. Other key features include AxleTech axles with planetary reduction and four-mode steering: front, rear, all-wheel, and crab steering. Suspension consists of a rigid front axle and a full-floating oscillating rear axle.
The operator’s cab is ergonomically designed with acoustic lining, full glass visibility, and adjustable controls, including tilt steering and a deluxe seat. Standard features include air conditioning, AM/FM radio, rear-view camera system, and a HIRSCHMANN HC4900 LMI system, ensuring safe lifting operations with real-time data on crane configuration, radius, and load.
Overall, the RT60 offers a strong mix of advanced lifting capability, off-road mobility, operator comfort, and safety—all wrapped into a highly compact and transport-friendly design with a transport width of only 3 meters and component weight manageable at 43 tonnes.
