Product Description

The Tadano GR300EX, launched for global markets in 2011, is a 30-ton capacity rough terrain crane designed to deliver reliable lifting performance and superior operator control in tight and rugged job sites. In North America, this model is marketed as the GR350XL. It has a maximum rated lifting capacity of 30 tonnes at a 3.0-meter radius.

The crane is fitted with a 4-section, 31.0-meter main boom, constructed with Tadano’s signature round hexagonal box design. The boom operates using a partially synchronized telescoping system, utilizing a double-acting hydraulic cylinder along with extension and retraction cables for smooth and controlled boom operation.

For additional height and reach, the GR300EX can be equipped with an optional two-stage lattice-type jib, comprising a 7.2 m base section and an extension up to 12.8 m, for a total maximum lifting height of 44.0 meters. The jib can be offset at 5°, 25°, and 45°, providing flexible working angles for a variety of lift scenarios.

The crane is powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7 engine — a 6-cylinder, 4-cycle, turbocharged and after-cooled diesel engine. It produces up to 160 kW (215 HP) at 2,500 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 843 Nm at 1,600 rpm. The engine is available in EUROMOT 3B emission variants to meet regional environmental regulations.

A key innovation on the GR300EX is Tadano’s HELLO-NET system, a remote crane management platform that allows fleet owners to monitor machine data such as operational history, fuel status, mileage, and GPS-based location data. It also provides maintenance notifications for periodic inspections and parts replacement. This system enhances operational efficiency and preventive maintenance planning, though availability may vary by region.

Environmentally, the crane features several fuel-saving and emission-reducing technologies. The Eco Mode System adjusts maximum engine speed during operation in two selectable modes, helping reduce CO2 emissions and fuel use by up to 30%, while also lowering operating noise. The Positive Control System minimizes hydraulic pump output based on lever movement, contributing an additional 20% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions.

Safety and usability are improved with Tadano’s AML-C (Automatic Moment Limiter – Compact), which includes asymmetric outrigger extension detection. This system monitors each outrigger’s individual extension length and dynamically calculates the safe lifting area in real-time. If the crane slews toward an area with reduced outrigger support, AML-C automatically adjusts the load chart and initiates a slow-stop to prevent unsafe operations.

In summary, the Tadano GR300EX is a compact yet capable rough terrain crane offering advanced lifting technology, smart crane management, and fuel-efficient systems. Its blend of lifting power, safety automation, and transportability makes it a valuable machine for construction, utilities, and industrial applications across varied job sites.
