Product Description
The Grove RT530E-2 is a 30-ton capacity rough terrain crane manufactured by Manitowoc and introduced in 2007 at the SAIE exhibition in Bologna, Italy. Production of this model took place in the Niella Tanaro facility, reflecting Grove’s ongoing development of compact and maneuverable cranes for European and global markets.
This crane is equipped with a robust four-section full power boom ranging from 8.8 m to 29.0 m. For extended reach, it includes an optional offsettable swingaway extension (7.9 m to 13.7 m), capable of reaching a maximum tip height of 45.0 m. The boom design utilizes 690 MPa high-tensile steel for reduced weight and enhanced lifting performance.
Under the hood, the RT530E-2 is powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7-liter Tier III diesel engine, outputting 160 hp (119 kW) at 2500 rpm and delivering a maximum torque of 732 Nm at 1500 rpm. An optional Tier IV engine version is available for markets with stricter emission regulations. The hydraulic system features dual pumps with a combined output of 316.5 L/min and a maximum operating pressure of 275.7 bar.
The crane’s carrier is a heavy-duty box-section chassis on 4×4 drive with full hydraulic power steering. It provides four main steering modes: front-only, rear-only, crab, and coordinated. Outriggers are hydraulically telescoping, with three setting positions (0%, 50%, and 100%), and inverted jacks for enhanced protection from jobsite debris. The crane boasts an impressive turning radius of just 5.8 m outside and 4.0 m inside.
Standard features include a modern operator cab with full-vision design, ergonomically positioned controls, air conditioning, and the CraneSTAR asset management system for remote monitoring. Safety is bolstered by the inclusion of a graphic Load Moment Indicator (LMI), anti-two block system, and the Work Area Definition System (WADS), which creates virtual working boundaries.
Overall, the Grove RT530E-2 offers strong performance in a compact package, making it suitable for a wide range of lifting tasks on confined or uneven terrain.
