Product Description
The GR-700EXL is a versatile 70-ton capacity rough terrain crane developed by Tadano, featuring a 5-section fully powered, partially synchronized telescopic boom. The boom extends from 11.5 meters to 44.0 meters, offering flexible lifting operations. It is complemented by a two-stage swing-away jib (9.9 m and 17.7 m), which provides offset angles of 3.5°, 25°, and 45° for various lifting scenarios. A single auxiliary boom sheave is also mounted for single-line lifting.
The crane is driven by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLU3B turbocharged, water-cooled diesel engine producing 200 kW (272 PS) at 2,600 rpm with a maximum torque of 785 Nm at 1,400 rpm. The engine complies with EUROMOT Stage 3 emission standards. It is mated to a 6-speed forward and 2-speed reverse automatic transmission with 4×2 and 4×4 selectable drive options. The maximum travel speed reaches 39 km/h with gradeability up to 112%.
Outrigger configuration is highly adaptable, with hydraulic H-type outriggers offering fully extended (7.2 m), middle (6.7 m and 5.5 m), and minimum (2.8 m) settings. Swing operations are facilitated by a hydraulic axial piston motor, with a continuous 360° swing and a swing speed of 2.3 rpm. Both the main and auxiliary winches are hydraulically driven with line pulls of 54.9 kN and line speeds up to 143 m/min and 125 m/min respectively. The wire rope used is 19 mm in diameter and rotation-resistant.
The crane is equipped with Tadano’s AML-L system (Automatic Moment Limiter), which provides audio-visual warnings and motion cut-off when approaching overload. It also displays crucial parameters such as boom angle, load radius, tip height, swing angle, and actual load.
The GR-700EXL features a fully enclosed, ergonomically designed operator cab, mounted on the rotating superstructure. The cab includes a 3-way adjustable seat, air conditioning (optional), and all-around safety glass windows. Control is handled through four standard ISO levers with additional foot pedals for boom hoist and telescoping.
The crane is mounted on a high-tensile steel mono-box frame with six tires (29.5-25 22PR OR), full floating front and rear axles, and hydraulic power steering with four modes—2-wheel front, 2-wheel rear, 4-wheel coordinated, and 4-wheel crab. The suspension includes a rigid front mount and a pivoting rear axle with hydraulic lockout.
With a gross vehicle mass of 48,315 kg, the crane incorporates a 7,900 kg removable counterweight integrated into the swing frame. Additional features include an AML external lamp, winch drum mirrors, backup alarms, outriggers with extension detectors, and full hydraulic oil cooling systems.
Overall, the Tadano GR-700EXL stands out for its strong lifting capacity, extended boom reach, robust drive and suspension system, and intelligent safety integration, making it ideal for demanding lifting operations in rough terrains.
