Key Features & Benefits

The Kato KRM-35H-2, or MR-350R, is a compact and high-performance 35-ton class rough terrain crane, offering flexible boom configurations and exceptional operational control. Its 6-section box-type telescopic boom extends from 7.5 m to 32.5 m, and it supports a 3-stage hydraulic jib from 6.5 m to 14.0 m, with a max offset up to 60°. The crane’s maximum lifting height is 33.4 m with the main boom and 47.3 m with jib installed.

Performance-wise, the crane achieves a maximum lifting capacity of 35,000 kg at 2.6 m radius with a 10-part line. Hook blocks are available in 35-ton, 22-ton, and 4-ton configurations, with single-line hook speeds up to 125 m/min, and an unloaded high-speed lowering function at 163 m/min. Slewing speed is 2.6 rpm, and boom operation ranges from -10° to 83°, with full elevation in 44 seconds.

The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLE3A intercooled turbo diesel engine, delivering 200 kW (272 PS) at 2600 rpm and 785 Nm of torque. The drivetrain supports 4×2 and 4×4 modes, with a 4-speed transmission (forward and reverse) and high/low gear range. The crane reaches a maximum travel speed of 49 km/h and has gradeability of 0.55 (tanθ).

A standout feature is its steering versatility—the KRM-35H-2 offers five steering modes, including front-wheel, rear-wheel, crab, counter, and independent front/rear steering. This allows a minimum turning radius of 4.9 m, making it extremely agile on congested job sites.

Outrigger deployment is fully hydraulic H-type with maximum span of 6.8 m, with multiple intermediate settings (6.3 m, 5.2 m, 4.2 m, and a retracted width of 2.31 m). These are supported by an automatic width detection system to optimize lifting safety based on extension state.

Its hydraulic system includes dual variable-displacement piston pumps and control valves with flow-compensated pressure control. Safety features include the ACS system (overload prevention), anti-two-block, boom/jib drop prevention, winch drum lock, swing lock, and oil overheat alarms.

The operator cab is fully equipped for comfort and safety with air suspension seat, AC, power windows, adjustable steering, visibility-enhancing mirrors, and monitoring systems including rear and side cameras. Optional accessories include a winch camera, external ACS display, and anemometer.

Weighing in at 28,055 kg, with balanced axle loads, the KRM-35H-2 offers reliable performance and quick setup. It is a well-rounded choice for contractors who need powerful lifting in tight environments—ideal for urban work zones, utility maintenance, and light industrial construction.
