XGC28000 Completed Last Lift at Ningbo Formosa Project

On the 9th May 2021, the Ningbo Formosa Plastics Chemical Propane Dehydrogenation Project (PDH) was completed after SinoPec’s 2000-ton crawler XCMG XGC28000 performed its last lift at the plant. The project was invested by Taiwan conglomerate, Formosa Plastics Corp in 2017 which plans to invest USD 800 million in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China to produce petrochemical raw materials.

The XCMG XGC28000 has successfully hoisted the upper section of the 380-tonne separation tower C-5001 into place. This was the final heavy lift for the 200-tonne crawler crane at the Formosa Plastics Industrial Propane Dehydrogenation Project after the successful first hoist on 16th April 2021.

The upper section of the separation tower C-5001 is 19.5m high, 9m in diameter and 74m in length. The XGC28000 is the main crane while another 450-tonne crawler crane has been used as a auxiliary crane for the tandem lift.

The XCMG XGC28000 will be demobilised on the job site and send to Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Project which also in Ningbo. The plant is one of Sinopec Corp’s largest refining subsidiary.
