Product Description
The Demag CC 6800 crawler crane is one of the heavyweights in Demag’s crawler crane lineup, designed for ultra-heavy lifting tasks in sectors such as construction, wind energy, and petrochemical installations. With a load capacity of 1,250 tonnes, the CC 6800 is an upgrade from its predecessor, the CC 5800, featuring an enlarged boom section that is 3.5 meters wide. This expansion not only enhances the crane’s structural integrity but also significantly boosts its lifting performance.
The crane operates with a modular lattice boom system that can be configured for various applications. The main boom and jib configurations can be extended to achieve a maximum lifting height of 260 meters, making it suitable for operations requiring extraordinary reach. The crane also integrates the Demag Superlift system, which includes a counterweight carrier and a Superlift tray, enabling it to manage heavy loads with increased stability. The Superlift counterweight itself can range from 300 to 450 tonnes, depending on the lifting needs.
For maneuverability, the CC 6800 is equipped with Demag’s advanced IC-1 crane control system, which offers features like touchscreen operation, load moment indicators, and wireless remote control for ease of use and safety. The system allows operators to adjust configurations based on load demands and includes hydraulic pinnings for quick assembly and disassembly, reducing rigging times.
Powering the CC 6800 are two redundant six-cylinder engines, providing reliability and high output. The crane’s hydraulics and drivetrain are built to ensure that even under maximum load, it maintains smooth operation with minimal wear on components. The Demag Quadro-Drive system, a standard feature, enhances mobility, enabling the crane to navigate job sites with precision and stability, especially on challenging terrains.
In addition to its performance and lifting capabilities, the CC 6800 is transport-friendly, with optimized transport weights under 39 tonnes per component. This design consideration helps minimize logistics costs and simplifies mobilization between job sites.
Overall, the Demag CC 6800 crawler crane stands out for its exceptional load capacity, adaptability, and efficient transport, making it a highly sought-after solution for complex heavy-lifting projects worldwide.
Milestones
Luxi Chemical Group hoist reactor with China’s very first Terex CC6800 – On 18th March 2011, Luxi Chemical Group Co., Ltd put the first CC6800 in China to test with the hoisting of a 462 ton, 35.4m high and 2.4m diameter reactor. The crane was assembled with a 60m main boom in SSL configuration to lift and place the reactor on its 3.6m high pedestal. The lift was completed successfully in less than 3 hours. Additional jobs completed by Terex CC6800 on the same site included lifting a 416-tonne ammonia converter, as well as several 100 to 200-tonne jobs involving structural components.
