Product Description

The Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX2500 is a high-capacity crawler crane designed to handle heavy lifting tasks with a maximum lifting capacity of 250 tons at a 4.6-meter working radius in liftcrane mode. With a basic boom length of 15.25 meters, the crane can extend its boom to a maximum length of 88.4 meters, providing significant reach for a variety of construction and industrial projects. In addition, the SCX2500 offers a fly jib with lengths ranging from 12.20 to 36.55 meters, allowing for further reach and versatility in complex lifting operations. The combined boom and fly jib configuration can extend up to 109.7 meters (73.15 meters + 36.55 meters), making it ideal for high-reaching tasks.

In luffing towercrane mode, the SCX2500 can be equipped with tower heights ranging from 36.55 meters to 60.95 meters, along with a tower jib length of 27.45 meters to 51.80 meters. This results in a combined tower and jib length of up to 112.75 meters (60.95 meters + 51.80 meters), making it suitable for precision lifting at significant heights, particularly in dense urban construction or industrial settings.

The crane’s rope line speeds are optimized for both liftcrane and luffing applications. The front and rear main drums offer speeds of 120 meters per minute, providing efficient load handling. The boom hoist drum operates at a speed of 24 meters per minute, ensuring smooth and controlled boom adjustments during operations. The rope line speeds for luffing towercrane operations are also adjustable, with rear drum speeds of 51 to 2 meters per minute, giving operators precise control during complex lifts.

The SCX2500’s slewing speed is 1.7 revolutions per minute (rpm), ensuring smooth and accurate rotation for positioning loads. Travel speeds are adjustable between high (1.2 km/h) and low (0.8 km/h) modes, allowing the crane to maneuver efficiently across various terrains while maintaining stability. The crane’s 30% gradeability (17°) ensures it can operate on slopes and uneven surfaces without compromising performance.

The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6D24-TL engine, a reliable and efficient water-cooled, four-cycle direct injection diesel engine with a turbocharger and intercooler. It delivers a rated output of 235 kW at 2,000 rpm, providing ample power for both lifting and moving tasks. This engine ensures fuel efficiency and meets modern environmental standards for heavy-duty machinery.

The SCX2500 has a ground contact pressure of 109 kPa in liftcrane mode and 121 kPa in luffing towercrane mode, ensuring stable operation across various ground conditions. The operating weight of the crane is approximately 203 tons in liftcrane configuration (with a basic boom and 250-ton hook block), and 225 tons in luffing towercrane configuration (with a 60.95-meter tower, 51.80-meter jib, and 25-ton hook block).

Overall, the Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX2500 is a versatile and powerful crawler crane, capable of handling a wide range of heavy lifting tasks in both liftcrane and luffing towercrane configurations. Its powerful engine, extensive boom and jib configurations, and efficient rope systems make it an excellent choice for large-scale construction, infrastructure, and industrial projects.
