Product Description
Unveiled in 2006 alongside the smaller LTF 1035-3.1, the LTF 1045-4.1 represents Liebherr’s innovation in combining the benefits of all-terrain crane technology with the cost efficiency and mobility of a truck-mounted system. The crane is mounted on a 4-axle commercial truck chassis, allowing for legal road transport at higher axle loads and easier access to job sites without the need for special permits in many jurisdictions.
At the core of the LTF 1045-4.1 is a five-section TELEMATIK telescopic boom, extending from 10.2 to 35 meters, derived directly from the LTM 1040-2 model. Additionally, a swing-away jib of 13 meters, which can be offset at 0°, 20°, or 40°, increases the maximum lifting height to 48 meters, and allows an outreach of up to 39 meters.
Unlike the LTM series cranes, the LTF 1045-4.1 includes a dedicated superstructure engine, providing independent hydraulic power for crane operations. This feature enhances operational flexibility, as crane functions do not rely on power from the truck chassis.
A key advantage of this model lies in its enhanced counterweight capacity. Due to its four-axle configuration, the crane can legally carry up to 9 tonnes of counterweight (at 12 tonnes per axle), a significant increase compared to the 1.5 tonnes carried by the LTM 1040-2, resulting in improved lifting capacities at longer radii and when using jibs.
The hydraulic system features axial piston pumps supporting simultaneous operation of multiple functions—hoisting, slewing, and boom extension—delivering smooth and precise control. The main winch offers a line pull of 45 kN and speeds of up to 115 m/min, enabling efficient lifting cycles.
Stability during operation is ensured by four hydraulically adjustable outriggers, creating a maximum footprint of 6.5 x 7.0 meters. The operator’s cab, designed for visibility and comfort, includes Liebherr’s LICCON control system for real-time monitoring of load data and crane configuration, with all critical functions within intuitive reach.
With its combination of advanced Liebherr crane technology, enhanced mobility through commercial trucking platforms, and increased counterweight transport capability, the LTF 1045-4.1 is ideal for mid-sized crane fleets and service providers looking for a road-efficient, high-performance lifting solution. It excels in scenarios where job site access, setup time, and total operating cost are critical factors.
