Product Description
The Tadano TL-250 is a well-balanced and agile hydraulic truck crane designed to handle a wide range of lifting tasks efficiently while maintaining roadability and operational simplicity. Built with a keen focus on maneuverability, the TL-250 combines an ideal weight balance structure with an operator-friendly interface and a powerful drivetrain, making it especially suitable for fast-paced construction environments and constrained urban access jobs.
This crane is equipped with a four-section, hydraulically telescoping boom built from box construction, allowing extension from 10.2 meters to 31.5 meters. Additionally, a jib system offers further flexibility, with extension lengths of 8.5 meters or 14.0 meters. The jib includes a 2-staged swing-around mechanism with dual offset positions at 5° and 30°, enabling elevated and offset lifting operations over structures or obstacles. With the jib in use, the TL-250 can achieve a maximum lifting height of 45.2 meters and a maximum working radius of 37 meters, making it a versatile crane for high-reach tasks.
In terms of capacity, the TL-250 can lift up to 25 tonnes at 10.2 meters using an 8-part line. Load capacity varies with boom extension, with rated loads such as 16 tonnes at 17.3 meters, and 7 tonnes at the full boom length of 31.5 meters, adapting to a variety of lifting requirements.
The crane is fitted with a dual winch system — main and auxiliary — each powered by a hydraulic motor with spur gear speed reducers. The main winch offers a line speed of 117 meters/min at the fourth layer, and the auxiliary winch mirrors this performance with 100 meters/min, allowing for fast and safe load handling. Hook speed on the fourth layer is 14.6 meters/min, with lower speeds for high-precision operations.
The swing system uses a hydraulic motor with a planetary reducer and can rotate the crane 360° continuously at a swing speed of 3.1 rpm. The boom can be elevated between -3° and 80°, achieving full elevation in about 55 seconds through a double-acting hydraulic cylinder.
Structurally, the TL-250 is mounted on a Nissan K-KG45 carrier, equipped with a PE6 diesel engine producing 275 PS at 2,300 rpm and torque of 98 kg·m at 1,200 rpm. The drivetrain features a constant-mesh 5-speed transmission with hypoid gear-type reducer, and hydraulic brakes on all 8 wheels. The suspension system employs laminated leaf springs with torque rods and equalizers, enhancing both ride comfort and stability under load.
The carrier measures 12.42 meters long, 2.49 meters wide, and 3.39 meters high, with a total vehicle weight of 27,520 kg and a gross vehicle weight of 27,630 kg. Its road performance is well-optimized, with a maximum travel speed of 60 km/h, a gradeability of 33%, and a turning radius of just 11 meters, enabling practical mobility even in narrow or uneven construction zones.
The TL-250 is equipped with comprehensive safety devices including an automatic moment limiter, boom and swing indicators, hook safety latch, over-winding cutoff, and hydraulic counterbalance valves. Optional features include a cab heater, hydraulic oil temperature gauge, and winch drum rotation indicator.
Inside the operator’s cab, a reclining seat with headrest ensures comfort during extended shifts. Controls are grouped in a centralized layout, enhancing ergonomics and visibility, while wide-glass windows maximize the operator’s field of view for better situational awareness. The crane is also designed to comply with Japan’s standard road regulations, including weight limits and axle loads, ensuring ease of transportation between jobs.
In summary, the Tadano TL-250 is a time-tested 25-ton mobile crane that provides solid lifting power, ease of use, and dependable road travel capabilities. It is a pragmatic solution for contractors needing quick deployment, solid reach, and reliable performance in everyday lifting operations across construction, logistics, and infrastructure sectors.
