Product Description
The Tadano TR-300XL is a versatile 30-ton (27.2 metric ton) rough terrain crane designed to meet the needs of challenging off-road lifting tasks. Its main feature is a 4-section, fully synchronized telescoping boom that offers a reach from 28.2 ft to 88.3 ft (8.6 m to 26.9 m). The boom is supported by hydraulic cylinders and comes with four 12 5/8-inch (320 mm) diameter sheaves at the boom head for smooth extension and retraction. For additional lifting height, the crane can be equipped with an optional jib that extends up to 24.6 ft (7.5 m), offering offsets of 5°, 25°, and 45° to maximize reach and versatility.
The boom elevation is controlled by a double-acting hydraulic cylinder, allowing an elevation range from 0° to 82°, which provides operators with the flexibility to handle various lifting angles. The crane also includes a standard auxiliary lifting sheave, with an option for a single top-mounted sheave for additional lifting configurations. The anti-two block system with a failure warning buzzer ensures operational safety by preventing over-hoisting.
The crane’s hydraulic system is powered by tandem gear pumps that control all major operations, including boom extension, hoisting, swing, outriggers, and steering. The hydraulic reservoir has a capacity of 116 gallons (438 liters), with a filtration system providing full-flow protection to ensure longevity and reliability. The swing system uses a hydraulic axial piston motor driving a planetary gear with a continuous 360° full-circle swing on ball bearing turntables at 3.4 rpm, allowing for smooth rotation during lifts.
The hoisting system features a main and auxiliary hoist, both equipped with grooved drums and variable-speed drive systems powered by hydraulic motors with planetary speed reducers. The main drum has a capacity of 734 ft (223.6 m) of 5/8 in (16 mm) diameter wire rope and can pull a maximum of 10,078 lbs (4,571 kg) at a line speed of 351 ft/min (107 m/min). The auxiliary hoist offers similar specifications, ensuring the crane is well-suited for various lifting tasks.
The Tadano TR-300XL’s operator cab is ergonomically designed to enhance comfort and control. It includes a sliding door, shatter-resistant windows, and an adjustable seat with a tilt-telescoping steering wheel for ease of use. The dashboard is equipped with comprehensive monitoring instruments such as engine temperature, oil pressure, and speedometer, along with levers for boom telescoping, swing, and hoisting functions. Additionally, the crane is equipped with the Tadano AML-M load moment indicator system, which provides critical safety features such as angle and load warnings, working radius monitoring, and load moment ratio displays.
Powering the crane is a reliable Mitsubishi 6D14T direct injection diesel engine, delivering 134 hp (100 kW) at 2,600 RPM and 420 ft-lbs (58 kg-m) of torque at 1,600 RPM. The engine includes a turbocharger, providing the necessary power for both crane functions and travel operations. The transmission is an electronically controlled automatic system with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears, allowing the crane to reach a maximum travel speed of 31.2 mph (50.2 km/h), making it highly mobile between job sites.
The TR-300XL’s mobility is further enhanced by its 4-wheel steering system, which includes front-wheel steering, four-wheel coordinated steering, and four-wheel crab steering. This versatility allows the crane to navigate tight spaces and difficult terrain with ease. The suspension system features semi-elliptic leaf springs with hydraulic lockout devices for both the front and rear axles, ensuring stability during both transport and lifting operations.
For added stability during lifting, the TR-300XL is equipped with four hydraulic outriggers that extend to a centerline beam span of 19 ft 3/8 in (5.8 m) and retract to within 8 ft 1 5/8 in (2.48 m). The outriggers can be operated independently from the cab, allowing precise leveling of the crane on uneven ground.
In summary, the Tadano TR-300XL offers a combination of power, mobility, and safety, making it an ideal choice for heavy lifting operations in rough terrain environments. Its advanced hydraulic systems, ergonomic cab, and strong lifting capacities make it a versatile and reliable crane for various industrial and construction applications.
