Terex RT335

The Terex RT335 is a versatile 35 US-ton rough terrain crane, designed for industrial, construction, and utility applications. Its four-section, full-power, mechanically synchronized boom extends from 30 ft to 94 ft (9.1 m to 28.6 m), offering significant reach and flexibility. The boom is constructed from high-strength four-plate steel, welded both inside and out, with embossed side plate holes to reduce weight while maintaining strength. It provides a boom elevation range from -5° to 76°, controlled by a single hydraulic hoist cylinder, which simplifies reeving changes and allows for efficient close-radius operation.

The crane is equipped with a standard Cummins 6BT5.9 diesel engine, producing 152 hp (113 kW) at 2,500 RPM, with an alternative Caterpillar 3116 DITA engine option available. The engine powers a full powershift transmission with six forward and three reverse gears, allowing the RT335 to reach a top speed of 24 mph (38.6 km/h). This crane also includes 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steering with three steering modes—front-wheel, four-wheel coordinated, and crab steering—providing excellent maneuverability on difficult terrains.

The hydraulic system of the RT335 is powered by three gear pumps with a combined system capability of 119 GPM (450 LPM), supporting all crane functions. The crane’s hydraulic reservoir has a capacity of 114 gallons (432 liters), featuring a full-flow filtration system for optimal performance and durability. The hydraulic winch system includes a two-speed main winch with a line pull of up to 15,639 lbs (7,093 kg) and a maximum line speed of 533 ft/min (162.5 m/min), controlled by a single lever for precision in lifting.

For added reach, the RT335 can be equipped with an optional 32 ft (9.75 m) or 32 ft to 49 ft (9.75 m to 14.93 m) offsettable jib. The jib offers offset angles of 0°, 15°, or 30°, increasing the crane’s lifting versatility for higher or more complex lifts.

Stability during operation is provided by the crane’s four hydraulic outriggers, which can be fully extended to a width of 22 ft (6.71 m), or retracted for use in confined spaces. The crane’s rear axle includes automatic oscillation lockouts that engage when the superstructure is swung more than 10°, enhancing stability during lifting.

The operator’s cab is designed with comfort and functionality in mind. It includes a deluxe six-way adjustable seat with torsion bar suspension, sound and weather insulation, and large windows for improved visibility. The cab is equipped with a rated capacity indicator (RCI) system, which includes an anti-two block system with automatic function disconnects to ensure safe operation. Controls for all crane functions, including boom telescope, winch, and swing, are easily accessible, and the cab includes complete instrumentation for engine monitoring and hydraulic controls.
