Product Description

The Potain MR 90 luffing jib tower crane stands out in Potain’s MR series as an agile, high-performance solution ideal for confined urban sites. With a maximum capacity of 8 tonnes, the MR 90 is capable of handling substantial loads across varying configurations. Its luffing jib can extend up to 40 meters, with a tip load of 2.1 tonnes at that distance, ensuring both reach and payload efficiency. Additional configurations include 35 meters with 2.9 tonnes and 30 meters with 3.9 tonnes at the jib tip.

Designed with flexibility and precision in mind, the MR 90’s hoisting system uses the 55 RCS 20 winch that delivers hoisting speeds up to 104 m/min, while providing excellent control at low speeds (0–52 m/min for 4-ton loads, and 0–26 m/min for 8-ton loads). The slewing mechanism, driven by an RCV motor, enables a rotation speed of up to 0.7 rpm for quick and controlled positioning.

For optimal site adaptability, the MR 90 supports both 1.6 m x 1.6 m and 2 m x 2 m mast sections and offers multiple base configurations including freestanding and climbing solutions. It can be anchored on foundations with a 4.5 m or 6 m base frame. The crane’s minimal out-of-service radius and variable mast height options enhance safety and operational convenience in tight quarters.

The electric system operates on a 400 V / 50 Hz mains supply and requires 120 kVA, aligning with standard site power capabilities. Trolleying speeds range from 15 to 30 m/min depending on configuration. The MR 90 is well-suited for high-rise projects, delivering strong performance with excellent luffing geometry and robust wind resistance, even when parked in a vertical jib position.

This model is especially appreciated in projects requiring frequent luffing and restricted swing radii, such as city towers or complex refurbishments between existing buildings.
