Product Description
The Demag AC 350/6 is a robust and versatile 350-ton capacity all-terrain crane designed to meet the demands of heavy lifting projects across various industries. Featuring a main telescopic boom that extends up to 64 meters, this crane can achieve a maximum system length of 125.7 meters by incorporating additional jibs, including a luffing jib, for enhanced reach and flexibility. This extensive reach, combined with the crane’s ability to handle high loads, makes it suitable for construction, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
One of the key features of the AC 350/6 is the Superlift main boom guy, a system designed to significantly boost the crane’s lifting capacity by providing additional stability and load-bearing support. This feature is particularly beneficial when operating with extended boom lengths or at challenging angles. The crane also boasts one of the quickest and safest setup systems for the luffing jib, allowing operators to configure the crane efficiently, thereby minimizing downtime.
Built on a 6-axle configuration, the Demag AC 350/6 is the most compact crane in its class, with an overall length of only 16.7 meters. The compact design enhances its maneuverability and transportability, making it easy to navigate through tight job sites and public roads. The crane’s carrier is powered by an MTU 450-kW (612 hp) engine, delivering 2700 Nm of torque. The engine is compliant with EURO MOT 3a, Tier 3, and CARB emission standards, highlighting its eco-friendly and powerful performance. It has a total fuel tank capacity of 680 liters, split between the carrier and an additional buffer tank on the crane, ensuring extended operation time without frequent refueling.
The crane’s transmission is a ZF AS-Tronic system with 12 forward and 2 reverse gears, incorporating a hydraulic retarder and switchable longitudinal locks, which allow for smooth transitions and enhanced traction control on various terrains. The suspension system is hydropneumatic with axle load compensation, providing stability and the ability to lock hydraulically for safe operation during lifts. Axles 2, 4, and 6 are driven, with all six axles offering selectable steering options, including active rear-axle steering for improved maneuverability.
Operator comfort and safety are prioritized in the design of the crane’s cab. The spacious, ergonomic cab is equipped with adjustable seats, air conditioning, and advanced control systems, including IC-1 control technology that facilitates precise load monitoring, real-time diagnostics, and efficient operation. Additionally, features like engine-dependent water heating, safety glazing, tinted windows, and visibility aids ensure that operators can work comfortably in various environmental conditions.
The AC 350/6 comes with numerous optional equipment and attachments to enhance its versatility. These include a range of jibs (fixed and luffing) with lengths up to 71.6 meters, heavy-lift attachments, and auxiliary components such as sheaves and counterweights that can be expanded to a total of 116.7 tons. The crane’s automated counterweight rigging system simplifies the setup process, enabling efficient operation with minimal manual intervention.
Designed for efficiency, transportability, and high performance, the Demag AC 350/6 combines strength with compactness. It offers a range of features to maximize productivity, including advanced hydraulic systems, a comprehensive set of safety devices, and innovative control technologies, making it a highly capable solution for heavy-duty lifting across a variety of job sites.
Milestones
Terex AC350/6 debut in Germany – Crane company Krandienst Lange debut AC350/6 in Germany which was used to dismantle an old power plant in Lubmin, close to the town of Greifswald.
