Product Description
The Liebherr LTM 1050/1 is a 50-ton all terrain crane engineered with precision to handle a diverse set of lifting operations with ease and reliability. Introduced as part of Liebherr’s earlier generation of mobile cranes, the LTM 1050/1 combines essential lifting power with a compact and durable design.
At the core of the crane chassis is a torsion-resistant, box-type frame made of high-tensile structural steel, supporting a 4-point all-hydraulic vertical and horizontal outrigger system for stable and safe operation. Powering the crane is the Liebherr D 926 TI-E 6-cylinder, water-cooled diesel engine, which delivers 230 kW (312 HP) at 2100 rpm and 1190 Nm of torque across the 1400–1600 rpm range. This engine meets EU Stage II emission standards and supports the vehicle with fuel efficiency and dependable performance. The engine is backed by a ZF automatic transmission system featuring 6 forward and 2 reverse speeds, equipped with a torque converter and lock-up clutch for efficient power transfer, especially during off-road conditions.
The crane rides on a three-axle configuration, with the front and rear axles featuring planetary hubs and differential locks. The middle axle is non-driven but steered. All axles are suspended by hydropneumatic suspension with Liebherr’s “Niveaumatik” leveling system and can be hydraulically locked. This setup ensures excellent maneuverability and comfort, even on uneven terrain.
The telescopic boom system consists of a base boom and four telescoping sections, all of which are hydraulically extendable under load, providing a total boom length from 10.5 meters up to 40 meters. A variety of optional folding jibs are available, including a 9.6-meter single-piece or a double folding jib extending up to 16 meters, with mounting angles at 0°, 15°, or 30°.
Hydraulically, the LTM 1050/1 is driven by an axial piston pump and triple gear pump combination, allowing for the simultaneous control of up to four crane movements. The crane drive system features diesel-hydraulic operation with “load sensing” control to optimize flow distribution. The hoisting system is powered by an axial piston motor driving a hoist drum with integrated planetary gearing and a spring-loaded static brake. The slewing system uses an axial piston motor with planetary gears, allowing continuous 360° rotation, while a hydraulic luffing ram provides reliable boom elevation with pilot locking.
Safety is a strong focus on the LTM 1050/1. It is equipped with LICCON load monitoring, load limiters, hose rupture safety valves, and limit switches to prevent over-hoisting or crowding. The operator’s cab, made from galvanized steel, features large windows for visibility, full safety glazing, and a user-friendly control panel. Additionally, the cab can be tilted for ease of access and comfort.
Optional equipment includes a secondary hoist gear for two-hook operations, alternative tire configurations (16.00 R 25 or 20.5 R 25), and additional driving cabs for larger teams. The LTM 1050/1 remains a reliable mid-class crane with solid lifting capacity and proven Liebherr engineering, ideal for construction sites requiring versatility and mobility.
