Product Description
The Mantis 200RS by Tadano (originally SpanDeck Inc.) is a robust, telescopic boom crawler crane rated at 100 US tons lifting capacity. It features a 54 ft full-power boom, delivering strength and flexibility in various lifting scenarios, especially in areas where setup time and terrain stability are critical concerns.
The crane offers multiple operational configurations depending on counterweight setup and track position (fully extended or retracted). With a 30,000 lb counterweight and tracks extended, it provides optimal lifting capacity. The load charts show impressive performance, such as lifting up to 200,000 lbs at an 8 ft radius, and maintaining capacities well above 50,000 lbs even at a 50 ft radius under optimal setup.
Six load charts are provided to cover configurations such as:
- 30,000 lb counterweight with tracks extended or retracted
- 15,000 lb counterweight
- No counterweight options
The winches and hydraulics are designed for smooth operation, and the crane is compliant with ANSI B30.5, SAE J1063, and SAE J765 standards. Rated capacities take into account a freely suspended load, with structural and stability limitations clearly defined. All capacity values are affected by the actual setup conditions such as boom angle, track width, wind, and load handling devices.
The 200RS includes deduction values for the hook blocks (e.g., 2,300 lbs for the 100-ton two-part block), which must be subtracted from the rated capacities for real-world lifting operations. Operators can rely on the crane’s Load Moment Indicator (LMI) to manage load data, boom position, and lifting radius during operation.
Built with a focus on durability and site adaptability, the Mantis 200RS is frequently used in heavy civil, power line, wind, and industrial applications where its compact footprint and telescopic boom offer both transport and operational advantages. Its ability to lift on the move and perform in off-level ground conditions makes it a reliable tool for complex lifting challenges.
