Product Description
During the Project Qatar 2014 exhibition held from May 12 to 15 in Doha, Qatar, XCMG, in partnership with Al Hamad Automobile, a member of Qatar’s renowned AL MANA Group, displayed an impressive lineup of 17 cranes. The highlight of this exhibition was the QAY180, a crane that not only symbolizes XCMG’s innovative capabilities but also its strategic penetration into Middle Eastern markets.
Advanced Specifications
- Lifting Capacity and Configurations: The QAY180 is designed for heavy-duty tasks, featuring a 180-ton lifting capacity. It includes a six-segment 62-meter boom and a three-segment 28-meter jib. The crane also offers six counterweight combinations, enhancing its versatility and lifting capability by up to 30% compared to previous models.
- Dimension and Mobility: The crane’s total length is 15.77 meters, and it weighs 60 tons with a minimum turning radius of 10 meters. These dimensions, coupled with a four-axle drive and electro-hydraulic proportional steering control, make the QAY180 highly maneuverable in diverse working conditions.
- Power and Efficiency: Powered by an imported Benz EFI engine and equipped with a 12-gear automatic control transmission, the QAY180 is designed for efficiency and power. The crane’s drive system includes the 2nd, 4th, and 5th axles as driven axles with an optional 10×10 full axle steering for optimal control.
Technological Innovations
- Patented Technologies: With 38 new patented technologies and the use of 222 patents in total, the QAY180 incorporates groundbreaking features such as an advanced disc-brake system and multi-point heat dissipation technology, which enhance safety and operational efficiency.
- Hydraulic and Control Systems: The crane features a patented hydraulic system that includes many innovative technologies for energy conservation and enhanced power. Furthermore, its control system uses CANbus technology, integrated with an image monitoring system for superior operational control.
- Safety and Environmental Considerations: The crane includes nearly 80 sensors to monitor various parameters to ensure safe operations. Its compact boom tail structure and enhanced tapping length of the lifting boom significantly improve stability and reduce jib deflection.
Applications and Impact
The QAY180’s primary application at the time of its debut was to aid in the construction of a nuclear power station, demonstrating its capability in high-stakes environments. This crane model not only highlights XCMG’s commitment to innovation and quality but also its adaptability to the needs of the global heavy-lifting industry, particularly in critical infrastructure projects.
