Liebherr LTM1400NX

The Liebherr LTM 1400NX is a high-capacity 400-ton all-terrain crane designed exclusively for the Japanese domestic market. It was engineered to meet Japan’s strict road regulations while offering outstanding lifting performance, safety, and efficiency. The crane is optimized for infrastructure, industrial, and energy projects, providing a versatile solution for heavy lifting in challenging environments.

The LTM 1400NX features a six-section 70-meter telescopic main boom, providing exceptional reach and lifting versatility. It is compatible with fixed jibs (6–42m) and luffing jibs (12–78m), extending the total lifting height to over 100 meters. With a maximum counterweight of 140 tons, it ensures superior load-bearing capacity, making it ideal for large-scale lifting tasks. The crane’s high-performance winches offer hoisting speeds of up to 120 meters per minute, while the slewing system provides 360° continuous rotation at speeds up to 1.2 rpm, enabling smooth and precise operations.

Designed for optimal mobility, the LTM 1400NX is built on a 6-axle carrier, offering a top speed of 80 km/h and a minimum turning radius of 11.98 meters. It features a ZF 12-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter and retarder, providing seamless power delivery and enhanced fuel efficiency. The hydropneumatic suspension system with automatic leveling allows for ride height adjustments, ensuring smooth travel on various terrains. The 16.00 R25 tires and advanced hydraulic steering system enhance maneuverability, making it well-suited for Japan’s urban and industrial landscapes.

Powering the carrier is a Liebherr D9508A7 eight-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, delivering 612 HP at 1,900 rpm and a maximum torque of 291 kg·m at 1,500 rpm, while the superstructure is powered by a Liebherr D934LA6 four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 245 HP at 1,800 rpm. Both engines are water-cooled and fuel-efficient, with large-capacity fuel tanks (550L for the carrier, 400L for the superstructure) ensuring extended operation without frequent refueling.

The LTM 1400NX is equipped with Liebherr’s LICCON safety and control system, offering real-time load monitoring, automatic safety adjustments, and intuitive operation via joystick controls. The crane also features electronic overload protection, a load radius monitoring system, and safety valves for hydraulic components, ensuring safe and reliable lifting operations.
