IHI CCH1200-5

The IHI CCH1200-5 represents a powerful and versatile solution in the 120-ton class of crawler cranes. It is equipped with a fully hydraulic system and is designed to perform efficiently across a variety of lifting tasks, boasting a maximum lifting capacity of 120 metric tons at a 5.0-meter radius. The crane comes with a main boom that extends up to 75 meters, and with an optional jib, it can achieve a combined reach of up to 88 meters.

At the heart of the CCH1200-5 is a Cummins QSL engine, a water-cooled, 4-cycle diesel engine featuring direct fuel injection, turbocharging, and charge air cooling. This engine delivers 242 kW of power at 2,000 rpm, supported by a 400-liter fuel tank. The drive system allows for a swing speed of 2.2 rpm and travel speeds ranging from 1.0 to 1.5 km/h, accommodating up to 30% gradeability.

Its dual independent hoisting systems, driven by hydraulic motors and managed by Lebus-grooved drums, offer hoisting speeds of 100 to 25 meters per minute, while the boom hoisting system operates at 60 to 30 meters per minute. Each drum includes brakes, ratchet locks, and hydraulic assist systems to ensure safe and precise control under load.

The CCH1200-5 supports a wide array of boom and jib combinations, with jib lengths of 13, 19, and 25 meters that can be used in varying configurations for increased reach. A post crane configuration is also available, expanding the crane’s capabilities for specific job site requirements. Its counterweight system supports up to 50 tons, and the overall operating weight with the basic boom is approximately 121.5 tons. Ground pressure is kept manageable at 0.92 kgf/cm².

In terms of operator experience and safety, the crane features a low-noise cab with full acoustic insulation, ergonomic controls, and a range of safety devices, including overwind prevention, drum locks, boom angle limiters, and emergency stop systems. Additionally, it is equipped with modern conveniences such as wipers, sun shades, rearview mirrors, and an OK monitor for diagnostics and operation status.
