Product Description
The Liebherr LTM 1055-3.2 is a modern three-axle all terrain crane that offers strong lifting performance and excellent mobility. Rated at 55 tons (50 metric tons), this model is a successor to earlier LTM 1055 variants, integrating updated structural and electronic systems for improved operational efficiency and safety.
Its telescopic boom extends from 10.2 meters to 40 meters and is constructed from high-tensile steel with a polygonal profile to ensure optimal strength-to-weight ratio. This boom is complemented by a double folding jib that can be extended up to 16 meters, supporting multiple offset angles for flexibility. With full extensions, the crane can reach a maximum hoist height of 56 meters and a maximum radius of 40 meters.
A standout feature of the LTM 1055-3.2 is its driveline configuration. Powered by a six-cylinder Liebherr turbo-diesel engine (270 kW / 367 hp) compliant with emission standards of its time, the crane offers high on-road performance with a ZF-AS-Tronic automated 12-speed transmission. It can travel at speeds up to 80 km/h, and all axles are steerable and driven, providing exceptional maneuverability and traction on a wide range of surfaces.
For lifting operations, the crane uses a telescopic boom system with a single-stage hydraulic cylinder and rope extension, enabling smooth, synchronized extension. Its winch system provides a line pull of up to 45 kN (10,100 lbs) with high-speed capabilities, and it can be configured with multiple part lines depending on the load.
The operator’s cab is ergonomically designed and equipped with an advanced LICCON control system (Liebherr Computed Control), offering real-time data for lifting operations, safety interlocks, and load charts. The crane includes features such as automatic leveling outriggers, variable support base control, and safety monitoring systems that enhance setup efficiency and operational security.
The compact overall length (10.4 meters) and narrow width (2.55 meters) allow the LTM 1055-3.2 to access tight urban job sites with ease, while its robust structural and hydraulic systems make it equally capable on uneven terrain. The design also supports travel with counterweights and jib mounted, reducing time lost to additional transport and setup.
In sum, the Liebherr LTM 1055-3.2 offers a balanced mix of mobility, reach, and lifting performance, making it a versatile choice for general construction, industrial maintenance, and infrastructure support applications.
