Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2

The Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2, debuted at Bauma 2013 in Munich, is a groundbreaking six-axle mobile crane featuring a single-engine concept. This 300-ton all-terrain crane eliminates the traditional need for a second engine by using a mechanical shaft, leading to improved efficiency and reduced complexity. Mounted on a six-axle chassis, it is equipped with a 78-meter telescopic boom, providing an additional 6 meters over its predecessor, the LTM 1250-6.1. The crane’s innovative design was recognized with the ESTA Award of Excellence in Innovation in 2015.

The new LTM 1300-6.2 features a longer telescopic boom of 78 metres and an increased lifting capacity.

Product Description

The Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 represents a significant shift in mobile crane technology with its introduction of the single-engine concept, as opposed to the traditional twin-engine setup found in most cranes of this class. This approach not only simplifies the machinery but enhances operational efficiency and environmental friendliness. The crane’s innovative power transmission system involves gear shafts routed from the distributor gear in the substructure through the center of the slewing ring to the pump distributor gear in the superstructure.

Key Features and Specifications

  • Maximum Lifting Capacity: 300 tonnes, enabling it to tackle substantial loads with ease.
  • Innovative Power Concept: A single engine with a mechanical shaft replaces the typical twin-engine configuration, improving fuel efficiency and reducing operational complexity.
  • Efficiency and Environmental Benefits: The unique engine setup combined with ECOmode significantly cuts down on fuel consumption and emissions, making the LTM 1300-6.2 a more sustainable choice.
  • Award Recognition: The crane’s design was honored with the ESTA Innovation Award in 2015, highlighting its impact on the future of crane technology.
  • Operator Experience: Users report excellent handling, flexibility, and load capacity. The crane also features quick and easy setup processes, contributing to shorter project times.

User Feedback and Performance

Operators have universally praised the LTM 1300-6.2 for its technical prowess and operational efficiency. Feedback highlights include:

  • Handling and Flexibility: The crane is noted for its responsive and precise superstructure operations, which allow for meticulous handling of loads.
  • Fuel Consumption: Despite its large size, the crane consumes less fuel than smaller models with twin engines, thanks to its optimized power system and ECOmode functionality.
  • Setup and Operation: The crane’s design simplifies ballasting and setup, making it quicker to deploy on job sites. The lack of a separate superstructure engine has not impacted its performance, further validating the single-engine concept.

The LTM 1300-6.2 has proven effective across various applications, particularly in constructing tower cranes. Its 78-meter telescopic boom offers unmatched performance in erecting large construction cranes, underscoring its capability in heavy lifting tasks.

This crane model, with its pioneering design and operational benefits, exemplifies Liebherr’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in mobile crane technology. It continues to set new standards in the industry, confirmed by the positive assessments from its global user base.

Milestone

LHB Group, a Singapore-based crane rental company has purchased the first unit of LTM1300-6.2 for Singapore market. A handover ceremony was held a Liebherr booth to the new owners during Shanghai Bauma 2014.

UK crane rental company, King Lifting has placed a for its first Liebherr crane in its fleet, which is also the first unit of LTM1300-6.2 in the UK.
