Grove AP308

The Grove AP308 is a powerful yet compact carry deck crane engineered for high performance in industrial and tight work environments. It comes with a fully powered three-section telescopic boom with a length of 10.5 ft to 24 ft (3.2 m to 7.3 m), providing a maximum tip height of 29 ft (8.8 m). The optional extensions include a fixed swingaway extension of 10 ft (3.05 m), and a telescopic swingaway extension adjustable between 10 ft and 15 ft (3.05 m to 4.5 m), bringing the maximum tip height to 44 ft (13.4 m).

The crane’s hydraulic system consists of two main gear pumps, delivering 54.4 GPM (205.7 LPM), driven by the carrier engine, with a 30-gallon (114 L) oil reservoir. It has a hoist system that uses planetary reduction with automatic spring-applied multi-disc brakes, giving it a maximum single line pull of 9,580 lbs (4,345 kg) and a maximum speed of 145 FPM (44 m/min).

For mobility, the AP308 is equipped with a rear hydraulic steering system and operates on a 4×2 drive configuration. The engine is a Cummins 4B3.9L diesel engine, generating 76 bhp (57 kW) at 2,500 RPM, and provides a maximum torque of 184 ft-lbs (250 Nm) at 1,200 RPM. An optional Continental 2.7L gasoline engine is also available. The crane comes with an automatic transmission with three forward speeds and one reverse.

The carrier chassis is built from high-strength alloy steel, supporting a carry deck area of 62 sq ft (5.8 m²) with a load deck capacity of 17,000 lbs (7,711 kg). The crane’s gradeability is 65.6%, and it can travel at a maximum speed of 17 mph (27 km/h) with the automatic transmission or 29 mph (46.7 km/h) with the manual option.
