Product Description
The Kobelco 7055-2 crawler crane is built to handle a range of construction and foundation applications, providing dependable lifting power and flexibility on the job site. It features a rated maximum lifting capacity of 55 tons at a 3.7-meter radius with the standard boom configuration.
The main boom is a lattice-type, fabricated from high-strength steel, and ranges from 9.1 meters up to 51.8 meters in length. With the addition of a jib, the crane achieves a maximum boom plus jib combination of 60.1 meters, enabling greater lifting height and working radius, ideal for work such as precast erection, general construction hoisting, and light structural steel work.
For more complex applications, the 7055-2 can be configured with a luffing tower and jib setup. The luffing tower extends from 21 meters to 42.4 meters, while the luffing tower jib ranges from 16.8 meters to 29 meters. This configuration increases lifting flexibility in congested urban sites, industrial plants, or bridge projects where vertical clearance and tight swing radii are factors.
The crane’s main and auxiliary winches provide fast and reliable hoisting speeds, up to 100 meters per minute under light load conditions, ensuring efficient lifting cycles. Both winches use hydraulic motors driving planetary reduction gears for consistent torque and reduced maintenance.
Swing performance is equally robust, with a swing speed of 3.7 rpm powered by hydraulic motors with built-in negative hydraulic disc brakes, ensuring smooth rotation and precise positioning even with large loads.
Powering the 7055-2 is a Mitsubishi 6D24-TE1 turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 169 kW (230 PS) at 1,800 rpm. This engine provides reliable power while maintaining fuel efficiency and compliance with stringent emissions regulations. The hydraulic system employs variable displacement piston pumps, delivering smooth multi-function control to hoisting, boom luffing, swing, and travel operations.
The undercarriage is designed for stability and ease of transport. Equipped with wide crawler tracks and low ground bearing pressure, the crane performs safely on uneven or soft terrain. Travel speeds range up to 1.2 km/h, and the crane offers gradeability of up to 30%, providing dependable mobility across challenging ground conditions.
Operational safety is supported by multiple built-in systems, including automatic drum brakes, hydraulic safety valves, swing lock devices, and standard overload protection. The spacious operator cab features an ergonomic layout with high-visibility windows, intuitive joystick controls, air conditioning, and comprehensive instrumentation to ensure operator comfort and efficient operation throughout extended shifts.
The Kobelco 7055-2 is also designed for ease of assembly and transport, with modular boom sections and counterweight components optimized for efficient shipping and rapid on-site setup.
Altogether, the Kobelco 7055-2 combines strong lifting capacity, flexible configurations, high-powered hydraulic performance, and operator-friendly design — making it an excellent choice for general construction, foundation work, clamshell excavation, pile driving, and industrial plant projects requiring reliable, productive lifting solutions.
