Key Features & Benefits

The Kobelco 7070-1F is a rugged and reliable 70-ton class crawler crane engineered for efficiency and flexibility in lifting operations across industrial, civil, and infrastructure projects. Its lattice boom construction utilizes high-tensile steel and tubular chords with pin connections, supporting up to 54.9 meters of boom length. Additional jib combinations, including a fixed jib and tower jib, allow for extended reach — with fixed jib combinations up to 45.7 m + 12.2 m and tower jib configurations reaching 42.7 m + 30.5 m.

The crane is powered by a Hino J08E-TM diesel engine rated at 159 kW at 2,000 rpm and delivering 797 Nm of torque. This engine is fully compliant with NRMM Stage IIIA and EPA Tier III standards, balancing strong performance with emissions control. The fuel tank holds 400 liters for extended operating time on site.

A trio of variable-displacement piston pumps drive the hydraulic system, delivering power to the hoisting, boom, swing, and travel mechanisms. The hoist system includes a front and rear drum, each capable of 120 m/min (main/auxiliary) on a single line, with a rated line pull of 68.6 kN and wire rope diameter of 22 mm. The tower jib hoist reaches speeds up to 90 m/min, using 8-part reeving for large load stability.

For movement and positioning, the crane travels at speeds up to 1.9 km/h with a 40% gradeability. It uses 800 mm wide crawler shoes over 63 shoes per side and has an operating weight of approximately 72.3 tons (with boom) and 76.8 tons (with tower jib), delivering ground pressures of 81.0 kPa and 86.0 kPa, respectively.

Operator comfort is ensured by a fully enclosed, air-conditioned cab with wide visibility through safety glass. Controls are operated via four levers for winches and swing, while ergonomic features include a high-backed adjustable seat, cup holder, and footrest. Swing operations are smooth at 4 rpm with a planetary reducer and integrated multi-disc brake for secure positioning.

The 7070-1F includes a 24.6-ton counterweight system and multiple hook options, including 70-ton (5 sheaves), 32-ton (2 sheaves), 19-ton (1 sheave), and a 7-ton ball hook. Optional third winch systems and tower jib point weights provide even more configuration flexibility for complex lifts.

In summary, the Kobelco 7070-1F is a highly capable and versatile crawler crane, offering a balance of reach, mobility, lifting performance, and operator-friendly controls. It is well-suited for urban high-rise work, plant construction, and infrastructure installations where mid-heavy lifting and long-reach combinations are critical.
