Product Description
The Tadano TR-350XL-3 is a robust 35-ton rough terrain crane designed to handle demanding lifting operations across various industries. It comes equipped with a fully synchronized four-section boom that extends from 32.6 ft to 105 ft (9.95 m to 32 m). This telescoping boom is constructed with high-strength steel and is fitted with five sheaves at the boom head to support smooth lifting and telescoping operations. Additionally, the crane features a hydraulic elevation system that adjusts from 0° to 80°, providing optimal boom positioning for a wide range of lifting scenarios.
For extended reach, the TR-350XL-3 includes a two-stage stowable lattice jib, available in lengths of 23.6 ft (7.2 m) or 42 ft (12.8 m). The jib offers offset positions of 5°, 25°, and 45°, enhancing the crane’s versatility for higher elevation or offset lifting tasks. With these configurations, the crane achieves maximum lifting heights that support even the most complex jobsite requirements.
The TR-350XL-3 is powered by a Mitsubishi 6D16-TLEA direct injection diesel engine that delivers 247 hp (184 kW) at 2,800 RPM and produces a peak torque of 521 ft-lbs (72 kg-m) at 1,400 RPM. This powerful engine ensures reliable operation of both the crane and its travel functions. The crane features an electronically controlled automatic transmission with six forward and two reverse gears, allowing for smooth movement at a maximum travel speed of 29.3 mph (47 km/h).
The crane’s hydraulic system is driven by twin variable piston pumps for crane functions and a tandem gear pump for steering, swing, and auxiliary operations. The main hydraulic reservoir holds 139 gallons (527 liters) of oil, ensuring that all hydraulic components, including the main and auxiliary hoists, boom lift, and swing functions, operate smoothly. Both the main and auxiliary hoists feature grooved drums capable of handling 5/8-inch (16 mm) diameter wire ropes, with maximum line speeds of 459 ft/min (140 m/min) and a permissible line pull of 9,755 lbs (4,425 kg), ensuring efficient load handling.
The TR-350XL-3 offers excellent stability during lifting, with four hydraulic outriggers equipped with integrated holding valves. The outrigger beams extend to a maximum centerline spread of 20 ft 8-1/16 in (6.3 m) and retract to within 8 ft 6-3/8 in (2.6 m) for transport. The outriggers can be independently controlled from the operator’s cab, with multiple extension positions to accommodate confined areas.
Operator safety and comfort are key design aspects of the TR-350XL-3. The cab features a one-man, steel-constructed design with sliding door access, shatter-resistant safety glass, and a high-back adjustable seat with seatbelt. The cab controls include foot-operated pedals for boom telescoping and hoisting, while the dashboard offers clear monitoring of critical functions like engine temperature, fuel levels, and hydraulic pressure. Tadano’s AML-L (Automatic Moment Limiter) load moment indicator system enhances safety by monitoring the crane’s lifting parameters, including boom angle, load weight, and radius, ensuring safe operation within specified limits.
This crane’s mobility and off-road performance are further enhanced by its 4×4 drive system, which includes planetary reduction axles and three steering modes: front-wheel, four-wheel coordinated, and four-wheel crab. The semi-elliptic leaf spring suspension with hydraulic lockout ensures a stable ride, even on uneven terrain. The 20.5-25-24 PR (OR) tires provide excellent traction and stability during operation and transport.
The Tadano TR-350XL-3 is ideal for industrial, construction, and utility applications where high-capacity lifting in rough terrain environments is required. Its combination of a powerful engine, long-reach boom, advanced hydraulic systems, and safety features makes it a reliable and versatile crane for challenging job sites.
