Potain MCT 805 M32
The Potain MCT 805 M32 is a 32-tonne flat top tower crane, based on the proven MDT 809 M32, and built for high-capacity lifting in space-constrained construction sites. Launched in April 2022 as the largest topless crane manufactured at Manitowoc’s Zhangjiagang facility in China, it features an 80 m jib, up to 84 m hook height, and rapid setup and transport capabilities, tailored for emerging markets and fast-paced urban projects.

Product Description
The Potain MCT 805 M32 flat top tower crane is designed to offer unmatched performance, speed, and efficiency for heavy lifting projects across emerging markets in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Announced in April 2022, the MCT 805 M32 shares its platform with the European MDT 809 M32, incorporating many of its strengths but optimized for transportability, erection speed, and operational versatility. It was the largest Potain topless tower crane produced at Manitowoc’s Zhangjiagang facility at its time of launch.
With a maximum lifting capacity of 32 tonnes, the MCT 805 M32 delivers excellent reach and load capability, extending up to 80 meters with a flat top jib design. At its full reach, it still offers a tip load of 7.5 tonnes—made possible by a compact counter-jib design limited to 27.3 meters. For closer-in work, it can lift the full 32 t out to over 22 meters. These capacities make it particularly well-suited to job sites with limited space where heavy and wide-span lifts are required.
The crane employs Potain’s modular K-mast system, supported by a new 8-meter cross-shaped base that delivers structural integrity comparable to a traditional 10-meter chassis. The mast sections are available in 10 m, 5 m, and 3.33 m lengths, allowing flexible under-hook height configurations up to 84 meters and supporting both rapid erection and precision height adjustment. With this system, the crane can be erected to 50 meters working height in under three days.
One of the crane’s core benefits is its streamlined logistics. Despite its heavy lifting capability, the rotating upper section can be transported in just 10 or 11 loads, well below the typical 14 containers required for comparable 40-tonne class cranes. All jib elements are sized to fit inside standard shipping containers, with a slim profile of 1.55 meters width and under 2.5 meters height, ensuring easy site access and reduced transport costs.
The hoisting system is anchored by Potain’s frequency-controlled winches. The M32 configuration highlights the 150 HPL 80 hoist, which can lift 1.8 tonnes at a speed of 151 meters per minute. When fitted with the larger hoist option, the drum can carry up to 1,063 meters of rope. The crane can be set up in either two-fall or four-fall reeving configurations to prioritize speed or load, respectively, depending on job site demands.
Setup is simplified further by features such as dedicated slinging points, pin-based modular connections, and a foldable counter-jib with quick-connect links. The V140S operator cab is pre-wired and mounted to the tower head, and remains intact between job sites, minimizing assembly time and reducing wear on electrical systems.
With its combination of high lifting power, fast assembly, efficient transport, and flexible design, the Potain MCT 805 M32 provides a powerful solution for contractors working on high-density, large-scale construction projects. It maintains the precision and structural reliability Potain cranes are known for, while delivering a best-in-class user experience for demanding environments.
