Product Description

The Demag AC30 City is a highly compact and versatile 30-ton all-terrain telescopic crane, engineered for efficient operation in confined spaces and challenging environments. With a design focused on maneuverability, it stands out as one of the most compact models available in its class, featuring a clearance height of under 3 meters, a carrier length of only 6.88 meters, and a total length of 8.38 meters. This makes the AC30 City an ideal choice for projects in urban settings, industrial facilities, and off-road locations where space is limited.

The crane is equipped with a fully hydraulic telescoping boom ranging from 7.5 to 25 meters, capable of handling a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tons. The boom integrates four sheaves and various attachments to support different lifting configurations, enhancing its versatility. The crane also comes with luffing cylinders featuring an automatic lowering brake valve for smooth and controlled adjustments. For rotary operations, the crane uses a slewing gear unit with a spring-loaded multi-disc brake, allowing for precise positioning and rotation with selectable operating modes.

The AC30 City’s carrier is built with a robust design, incorporating a 4x4x4 drive system that enables all axles to be steered and driven, with selectable transverse locks for improved traction and handling. The Allison automatic gearbox, with torque converter and six forward speeds plus one reverse, ensures smooth and efficient power delivery. Powered by a Daimler AG engine producing 170 kW (231 HP) and 800 Nm of torque, the crane provides reliable performance across varied terrain, meeting stringent emission standards (EURO MOT 3A, TIER 3, CARB, and ATEX Directive). The engine is complemented by a 260-liter fuel tank, offering flexibility to use diesel or alternative fuels, although biofuels like RME are not recommended.

The suspension system of the AC30 City utilizes a hydropneumatic setup with axle load compensation, which can be hydraulically locked or automatically leveled to provide stability during travel and lifting. The steering system incorporates dual-circuit hydrostatic steering with an emergency steering pump, ensuring reliable control even under challenging conditions. For braking, the crane is equipped with pneumatic brakes and an additional emergency brake system, enhancing safety.

The crane offers several operator-friendly features, including a comfortable cab with adjustable seating, electronic load moment limiters, and dual-axis joystick controls that allow for three simultaneous working movements. The cab is fitted with modern amenities such as seat heating, air conditioning, and safety features including tinted safety glass, pull-down sun visors, and a fire extinguisher. The control system supports electromechanical inputs, providing smooth and intuitive operation, while acoustic and optical warnings notify the operator of any issues.

In addition to its base capabilities, the Demag AC30 City is designed to be highly adaptable, with a range of optional attachments and equipment. It can be outfitted with different wheel configurations, additional counterweight options, and specialized jib attachments such as the HAV13 and HAV7 folding swing-away jibs, which offer manual offset capabilities. Other extensions include the MS runner with a 1.2-meter length and three sheaves, which can handle up to 18 tons. For enhanced functionality, operators can choose from options like remote control, gas heating, and xenon work floodlights, which improve performance in low-visibility conditions.

The crane’s versatile nature extends to transport and deployment. With a system length of up to 38 meters roadable, the AC30 City allows for efficient movement between job sites without requiring extensive setup. The crane’s modular design includes lockable compartments for accessory storage, ensuring that all necessary tools and attachments can be safely transported and quickly accessed on-site.

Overall, the Demag AC30 City combines compact design, robust performance, and a suite of advanced features to deliver exceptional versatility in tight spaces. Its ability to navigate narrow areas, coupled with a strong lifting capacity and customizable configurations, makes it an excellent choice for urban projects, industrial maintenance, and specialized lifting tasks where space and maneuverability are critical.
