Hitachi KH500-3

The Hitachi KH500-3 is a powerful 100-ton crawler crane designed for demanding construction and heavy lifting projects. It has a basic boom length of 16 meters (52’6″), extendable to a maximum boom length of 73 meters (239’6″), offering significant versatility in lifting operations. Additionally, the crane can be equipped with a jib ranging from 9 meters (29’6″) to 22.5 meters (73’10”), providing a maximum boom and jib length of up to 83.5 meters (273’11”).

For smooth and precise operations, the crane features swing speeds with high and low settings, ranging from 0 to 2.3 rpm on high and 0 to 1.4 rpm on low. The travel speed is similarly dual-configured, allowing for a maximum speed of 1.3 km/h in high mode and 0.9 km/h in low mode, ensuring controlled movement on job sites.

The KH500-3 has excellent gradeability, capable of handling slopes up to 17° (30%), making it well-suited for challenging terrain. Its ground pressure is 0.79 kgf/cm² (11.2 psi), contributing to the crane’s stability during lifting operations. The operating weight of the crane, when equipped with a basic boom, 100,000 kg (220,500 lbs) capacity hook, and 33,000 kg (72,800 lbs) of counterweight, is approximately 106,000 kg (233,700 lbs).

Powering this crane is an Isuzu 6RB1T turbocharged diesel engine, which provides a rated output of 206 kW (280 PS) at 2,000 rpm. This engine offers sufficient power and efficiency to meet the demands of heavy lifting, while the robust design of the crane ensures durability and reliability for prolonged use on job sites.
