Product Description
The P&H 8115‑TC is a heavy-duty lattice boom truck crane with a versatile design and high lifting capacity, ideally suited for demanding lifting operations in industrial, construction, and infrastructure environments. With lifting capacities of 115 tons under standard configurations and 125 tons with hammerhead boom tips, this crane delivers reliable performance across a range of jobsite scenarios. It is well-known for its adaptability, mobility, and strength, offering operators flexible setup options with different boom, jib, and counterweight combinations.
Built on a robust 8×4 truck carrier, the 8115‑TC features a long wheelbase for superior weight distribution and excellent roading characteristics. The carrier and upper structure are specifically designed and built by Harnischfeger, ensuring optimal compatibility between mobility and lifting functionality. The truck frame supports the upper machinery with excellent roadability and stability, even on difficult terrains such as steep grades, mud, snow, or uneven surfaces.
One of the 8115‑TC’s core strengths lies in its modular boom system. The standard boom length reaches up to 220 feet, and when configured with a 200-foot boom plus a 60-foot jib, the crane can perform long-reach lifting with stability. For even higher-rated lifting, the crane is equipped with hammerhead boom tips, which allow the 8115-TC to be rated at 125 tons—ideal for applications requiring maximum lifting capacity at shorter radii.
The crane adapts easily to various project needs through a choice of counterweights and boom tips. The lifting capacity depends on how the counterweights are arranged and whether the crane is operating on outriggers or rubber tires. For example:
- 115-Ton Rating (Standard Boom 220′, 200′ Boom + 60′ Jib)
- 35,500 lbs counterweight, over side and rear — on outriggers
- 35,500 lbs counterweight + 8,000 lbs front counterweight — over rear — on outriggers
- 35,500 lbs counterweight + 8,000 lbs front counterweight — over rear — on rubber
- 18,500 lbs counterweight — over side and rear — on outriggers
- 18,500 lbs counterweight — over side and rear — on rubber
- 125-Ton Rating (Hammerhead Booms 160′, 140′ + 60′ Jib)
- 18,500 lbs counterweight — over side and rear — on rubber
- 18,500 lbs counterweight — over side and rear — on outriggers
- 35,500 lbs counterweight — over side and rear — on outriggers
These flexible configurations allow the crane to match specific jobsite demands, whether lifting over the side, rear, or while traveling. The hammerhead boom tip setup boosts lifting performance by reducing the deflection at extended boom lengths, especially in high-capacity or critical lifts.
The upper machinery is powered by a Detroit Diesel or Cummins engine, with durable hydraulic and mechanical systems managing swing, hoist, and boom functions. The upper transmission system features four-speed capability, allowing smooth matching of hoisting power and line speeds to the job at hand. The “Full-feel” hydraulic controls ensure direct, responsive input, giving the operator fine control during precision lifts.
For operational longevity and reduced maintenance, the P&H 8115‑TC includes features like a sealed double-row P&H swing circle, a triple-protected planetary boom hoist, and a power box design that runs upper machinery in a continuous oil bath.
From an operational perspective, the P&H 8115‑TC sets itself apart with its total productivity, stamina, and wide working range. The combination of long boom options, multiple counterweight setups, and high stability carrier design makes it one of the most adaptable and capable 115–125 ton truck cranes available for mid to heavy-lift applications.
