Product Description

The P&H Century 150 is a heavy-duty 50-ton (45.3 metric ton) capacity rough terrain crane built to handle demanding lifting operations in off-road and industrial environments. The crane features a 4-section hydraulic telescoping boom that extends from 34 ft (10.4 m) to 110 ft (33.5 m). Each section of the boom is constructed from four plates, welded both inside and out, providing superior strength and durability. The boom is equipped with five metallic sheaves with roller bearings and two idler sheaves, ensuring smooth operation during lifts. The boom has a boom elevation range from -2° to 78°, offering excellent flexibility for various lifting angles.

For extended reach, the Century 150 offers optional lattice extensions, which include a 35 ft (10.67 m) and a 35–60 ft (10.67–18.29 m) telescopic extension. These lattice extensions are mounted on the side of the main boom for easy travel and can be offset at 17° or 30°, allowing the crane to achieve a maximum height of 170 ft (51.8 m) for long-reach and up-and-over applications.

The crane is equipped with the P&H model 1580 winches featuring planetary gearing and two equal speeds for power raising and lowering. These winches offer infinitely variable speed control, high line speeds, and high line pulls, making them ideal for heavy-duty lifting tasks. The winch system is electronically controlled via the crane’s operator cab, ensuring precise load control and operational efficiency.

Designed for operator comfort and functionality, the Century 150’s cab is cushioned and environmentally controlled, featuring large windows for enhanced visibility. The cab is equipped with joystick controls that operate the crane’s telescoping boom and tilting steering. In terms of steering, the crane offers four distinct modes: front-wheel, rear-wheel, crab, and 4-wheel coordinated, all of which are selectable by electric switches from the steering wheel. This versatility allows the operator to maneuver the crane easily in tight spaces or over rough terrain.

The powertrain consists of a fully sequential power shift transmission with a torque converter. Gear selection is electronically controlled and can be operated directly from the steering column. This design simplifies driving and shifting, ensuring smooth operation in a variety of terrain conditions.

For stability during operation, the Century 150 comes with an “Easy Ride” stabilizer, which helps reduce bouncing during travel, offering smoother and safer movement around the job site. The crane also includes a 9,000 lb (4,080 kg) non-removable counterweight, and an optional 1,080 lb (490 kg) auxiliary counterweight can be added when the crane is used without an auxiliary winch.

Overall, the P&H Century 150 is a versatile and powerful rough terrain crane, designed to handle a variety of challenging lifting tasks. Its high lifting capacity, multiple boom extension options, and advanced steering capabilities make it a valuable asset for construction, industrial, and utility work.
