Tadano Mantis 14010
The Tadano Mantis 14010 is a 70-ton telescopic crawler crane with a 4-section synchronized hydraulic boom extending from 37’6″ to 111’6″ (11.4–34 m). It’s powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7 Tier 3 engine and features high line-pull winches, a compact yet rugged structure, and 360° pick-and-carry capabilities. Ideal for challenging terrain and foundation work, it also offers optional 30 ft and 20 ft jib extensions for a total tip height of up to 162 ft (49.4 m).

Product Description
The Tadano Mantis 14010 is a compact yet powerful 70-ton (63 metric ton) class telescopic crawler crane designed for heavy lifting in confined, rugged, or variable job site conditions. It utilizes a 4-section full-power boom, hydraulically extended via dual cylinders and extension cables. The boom stretches from 37’6″ to 111’6″ (11.4 to 34.0 meters) in just 102 seconds, with an elevation range from -1° to 78°.
The crane is powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7 turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 260 hp (194 kW) at 2,200 rpm and 728 lb-ft (987 Nm) of torque. This is paired with a dual-pump load-sensing hydraulic system, operating at up to 4,800 psi (330 bar) and providing a flow of 154 gpm (583 l/min).
Two high-capacity planetary winches support heavy lifting:
- Main winch has a line pull of 17,960 lbs (79.9 kN) and speed of 192 ft/min (59 m/min).
- Auxiliary winch provides up to 15,360 lbs (69.3 kN) of line pull and 243 ft/min (74 m/min) line speed.
Each winch is equipped with a bent-axis hydraulic motor, drum rotation indicator, and multi-disc internal brake. Standard rope capacities are 700 ft on the main winch and 350 ft on the auxiliary.
The crawler system consists of hydraulically extendable steel side frames with 36″ (900 mm) track shoes, offering a maximum width of 18’8″ (5.69 m) and a retracted width of 12’6″ (3.81 m). Travel speed ranges from 0.8 to 1.2 mph, with 46% gradeability, pivot turn, and counter-rotation for high maneuverability.
For expanded lifting range, the 14010 supports optional attachments:
- 30 ft lattice extension and 20 ft jib, with offset angles of 15° and 30°.
- Combined, they enable a maximum tip height of 162 ft (49.4 m).
- Auxiliary boom head, auger-ready packages, tool circuits, and a two-person work platform (750 lbs capacity) are also available.
The operator’s cab is fully enclosed and climate-controlled, with a 6-way adjustable seat, rear cameras, ergonomic controls, and a Rated Capacity Limiter (RCL) with anti-two block, real-time load display, and configuration monitoring via a color LCD.
The crane’s overall working weight is 132,154 lbs (59,940 kg), and it maintains ground pressure as low as 8.9 psi depending on track shoe width. Designed to lift on the move with a full load, even with the tracks retracted, the Mantis 14010 is especially useful in utility, foundation, and infrastructure sectors where flexibility, stability, and lifting precision are essential.
