Tadano Mantis 9010
The Tadano Mantis 9010 is a 45-ton class telescopic boom crawler crane equipped with a 4-section full-power boom extending from 34 ft to 105 ft (10.4 m to 32 m). With 360° pick-and-carry capability, retractable tracks, and a Cummins QSB 6.7 engine, it’s built for performance in tight or rugged job sites with minimal setup.

Product Description
The Mantis 9010 offers a maximum lifting capacity of 45 US tons at a 10 ft radius, supported by a 4-section synchronized telescopic boom. The boom ranges from 34 ft (10.4 m) retracted to 105 ft (32 m) extended, with an optional 30 ft swing-away extension and 20 ft jib, delivering a maximum tip height of 154 ft (46.9 m).
Winch performance is solid, with the main winch offering a 15,530 lb (69.1 kN) line pull and 230 ft/min line speed, and the auxiliary winch delivering 12,000 lb (53.4 kN) at 217 ft/min. Both use 5/8” wire rope and feature planetary gears, dual-speed operation, and internal brakes.
The crane runs on a 260 hp (194 kW) Cummins QSB 6.7 engine, paired with two high-pressure axial piston pumps delivering 154 gpm at 4,800 psi. The system supports all crane functions, including boom actuation, winches, swing, and travel.
Travel is powered by a two-speed hydrostatic track drive, offering speeds of 0.78–1.29 mph (1.3–2.1 km/h) and a 68% gradeability, enabling it to traverse steep and uneven terrain. The undercarriage is equipped with retractable side frames and track shoes ranging from 24 in to 36 in wide. At full extension (36 in shoes), the working width is 18 ft 4 in (5.59 m), with ground pressure as low as 6.7 psi.
The operator’s cab is fully enclosed, air-conditioned, and ergonomically designed. It includes a six-way adjustable seat, safety interlocks, rear-view camera, and an LCD-based Rated Capacity Limiter (RCL) with real-time monitoring of load, boom angle, tip height, and parts-of-line. Anti-two block and swing brake systems further improve safety.
Optional features include:
- Boom extensions (30 ft and 20 ft)
- Auger kits (ready or complete)
- Tool circuit (5 or 10 gpm at 2,500 psi)
- Free-fall winches
- Cold-weather package for operation to -40°C
- Work platform (WP750) for two-person lifting
- Pole claw, radio control, and access walkways
With its compact dimensions, high mobility, and strong pick-and-carry capabilities, the Mantis 9010 is especially suited for utility work, petrochemical sites, powerline construction, and foundation support tasks. It combines Tadano’s rugged crawler undercarriage with telescopic boom efficiency—ideal for job sites demanding strength in confined spaces.
