Demag AC205

The Demag AC205 is a highly capable all-terrain crane with a sophisticated design to ensure efficiency and versatility across a wide range of lifting tasks. This crane features an 8 x 6 x 6 drive/steering configuration, ensuring optimal maneuverability and stability on diverse terrains. The monobox main frame, integral with high-grade close-grained structural steel outrigger boxes, provides a solid foundation for operations.

Powered by a Daimler-Benz OM 402 LA water-cooled 8-cylinder diesel engine, the AC205 delivers 280 kW (380 HP) at 2100 rpm, with a maximum torque of 1775 Nm at 1200 rpm. This power is managed through an Allison automatic transmission, featuring a transfer case with an off-road range, highlighting the crane’s capability to tackle challenging environments.

The AC205’s hydraulic system is designed for precision, driven off the carrier engine at low revs with one variable-displacement axial piston pump and a separate fixed-displacement pump for four simultaneous independent working movements. The hoist mechanism features a fixed-displacement axial-piston motor and a planetary reduction with an integral spring-loaded holding brake, ensuring safe and controlled lifting operations.

For operator comfort and control, the AC205 offers a spacious all-steel crane cab equipped with self-contained air heating, programmable timer thermostat, and large fold-out windows for enhanced visibility. The main boom, with a base and five telescopic sections telescoping with partial load, embodies the Demag ovaloid design for reduced deflection and increased lifting capacity.

Safety devices, including an electronic safe load indicator with digital read-out, limit switches on hoist and lowering motions, and pressure-relief and safety holding valves, ensure operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Optional equipment such as a main boom extension, additional counterweight, and heavy-lift attachment further enhance the crane’s versatility.
