Kato KA-900
The Kato KA-900 is a robust 90-ton all terrain crane, equipped with advanced safety systems and high-performance components tailored for both on-road mobility and off-road lifting operations. With its 5-section telescopic boom extending up to 45 meters and a fly jib option up to 18 meters, it offers versatile reach and lifting capabilities.

Product Description
The Kato KA-900, part of the manufacturer’s all-terrain series, is engineered to handle demanding lifting tasks across varied terrains. Its main boom features a 5-section design, extending from 11.8 meters to 45.0 meters. An optional lattice-type fly jib extends reach by an additional 10 or 18 meters, with adjustable offsets of 0°, 25°, and 45°. The crane boasts a maximum lifting height of 63 meters when using both the main boom and the optional jib.
This machine delivers a maximum rated lifting capacity of 90 metric tons at a 2.8-meter radius over the rear, and 82 metric tons at 3.0 meters with 360° swing. The boom can elevate from -2° to 83°, extending from minimum to full length in 98 seconds. Slewing is managed at a rate of 1.95 rpm, while the main and auxiliary winches provide line speeds of 122 m/min.
The hydraulic system consists of dual variable axial plunger pumps and dual gear pumps powering axial plunger type motors for winching and slewing, and double-acting cylinders for boom elevation. The system is supported by an 850-liter hydraulic oil reservoir.
Powering the superstructure is a Volvo TD73OVE 6-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine delivering 150 kW at 2250 rpm and 740 Nm of torque. For the carrier, a separate Volvo D12A 420 (EURO 2) diesel engine outputs 309 kW at 1800 rpm and 1850 Nm of torque at 1200 rpm, with an 8x6x8 drive configuration and a top speed of 75 km/h.
Safety is a priority, with Kato’s ACS (Automatic Crane Stopper) multivision system offering real-time operational feedback, limit warnings, and voice alarms. Additional features include multiple hook options, powered windows, air conditioning, and optional TELMA auxiliary brake for enhanced downhill control.
Designed for stability and versatility, the KA-900 is suitable for lifting operations in urban, industrial, and rough terrain environments where reliability and performance are critical.
