Product Description
The Liebherr LTM 1100-4.2 was introduced as the next evolution of Liebherr’s 100-ton class all-terrain crane, following the LTM 1100-4.1. With a robust and innovative design, it balances long boom reach, compact roadability, and modern crane control systems to meet the varied demands of today’s lifting environments. At just 2.75 meters wide—even when fitted with large 16.00 R25 tires—the crane offers outstanding maneuverability in restricted job site conditions.
Central to its strength is a 60-meter TELEMATIK telescopic boom. The single-cylinder telescoping system enables quick and automatic extension of all boom sections, contributing to faster setup times. Paired with a hydraulically adjustable swing-away jib measuring up to 19 meters, the crane achieves a maximum hook height of 91 meters, making it particularly suitable for high-reach projects, including structural steelwork and tower crane assembly.
Driving the LTM 1100-4.2 is a Liebherr 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine generating 350 kW (476 HP) and 2230 Nm of torque, ensuring dynamic road and off-road performance. The drivetrain integrates a 12-speed ZF AS-TRONIC automated manual transmission and a two-stage transfer gearbox, offering fuel-efficient travel and smooth handling across terrains.
The crane features the second generation of Liebherr’s LICCON (Liebherr Computed Control) system—LICCON2. This advanced control interface includes color touchscreen displays and ergonomic joysticks that provide intuitive access to crane operations, parameter settings, and diagnostics. Operators can customize and monitor lifts in real-time, increasing operational efficiency and precision.
Safety and maneuverability are enhanced by an active rear axle steering system, with five preselectable steering programs that reduce tire wear and improve turning radius. The high-performance air-operated disc brakes ensure excellent stopping power with minimal fade, even under heavy loads or high temperatures.
Inside the cab, both driver and operator comfort are addressed through ergonomic seating with lumbar support, panoramic safety glazing, and modern climate control systems. Controls are logically arranged for ease of use, and the corrosion-resistant cab construction supports long-term durability.
In conclusion, the Liebherr LTM 1100-4.2 exemplifies cutting-edge engineering in the all-terrain crane sector. Combining strong lifting capacity, a long-reaching boom system, compact road dimensions, and state-of-the-art control and safety features, it stands as a preferred crane for complex and varied lifting operations in both urban and off-road applications.
