Product Description

The Sumitomo SA2500 is a 250-tonne class all-terrain crane developed for high-capacity lifting across diverse and challenging job sites. Designed with flexibility and performance in mind, the crane is equipped with a robust five-section telescopic main boom ranging from 13.6 to 50 meters. The main boom is constructed in box-type segments with widths ranging from 2.8 to 14 meters, ensuring structural stability and efficient load transfer. To extend the working height, the SA2500 supports several jib configurations: a luffing jib with lengths from 18 to 50 meters, a tilt jib reaching up to 64 meters, and fly jibs offering combinations that provide working radii over 100 meters in certain setups. Maximum under-hook height with the jib configurations can reach up to 106 meters.

On the mobility side, the SA2500 features a CVS FM6430 12×8 chassis equipped with 16.00 R25 tires, allowing a maximum road speed of 58 km/h. Its climbing gradient capability is rated at 33%, and it boasts a turning radius of 11.8 meters. The suspension system integrates hydraulic and rubber spring systems with anti-roll stabilizers, while braking is managed through a combination of drum and disc systems, including a retarder and spring-loaded parking brakes.

Power for the carrier is provided by a Mitsubishi 6D22T diesel engine rated at 404 kW at 2,100 rpm, delivering a torque of 1,030 Nm at 1,400 rpm. The superstructure is driven by a separate Mitsubishi 6D22T engine rated at 183 kW at 2,050 rpm with torque of 1,030 Nm at 1,400 rpm, enabling simultaneous multi-function operations such as hoisting, slewing, and luffing.

Hoisting speeds are optimized for efficiency with the main and auxiliary winches delivering up to 120 m/min with a 3-layer rope configuration, while boom telescoping and luffing speeds are also adjustable for precision control. The crane’s advanced hydraulic system supports compound movements, improving productivity and safety during complex lifts. The cab is designed for operator comfort and control visibility, with ergonomic joysticks and full instrumentation.

Additional features include automatic counterweight installation systems, rear axle steering, and optional items such as tilt cab, jib stowage systems, and various hook and block configurations, making the SA2500 a highly adaptable crane for urban construction, wind energy, and heavy industrial applications.
