Tadano ATF 230-6
The Tadano ATF 230-6 is a 230-ton all terrain crane equipped with a 60-meter six-section main boom and powered by twin Mercedes-Benz diesel engines. With 12×6×6 drive configuration, hydro-pneumatic suspension, and advanced load moment and hoisting systems, it’s designed for high-capacity lifting in demanding jobsite conditions.

Product Description
The Tadano ATF 230-6 is a high-performance 230-ton capacity all terrain crane that combines impressive lifting power with advanced control systems and versatile mobility. Built on a torsion-resistant frame of high-strength fine-grained steel, this crane is supported by a 6-axle, 12-wheel configuration (12×6×6) with all driven axles equipped with differential locks. The first, second, third, fifth, and sixth axles are steered, offering superb maneuverability. The suspension system is hydro-pneumatic with automatic levelling, allowing the crane to adapt to uneven ground conditions.
The crane’s main boom is a 6-section telescopic design made from fine-grained, high-tensile steel. It consists of one base section and five telescoping sections, offering boom extension from 13.7 meters to 60.0 meters under partial load. The boom is operated by two double-acting hydraulic cylinders with integrated brake and holding valves. Additional boom extensions and jibs are available as optional equipment.
The crane is equipped with two Mercedes-Benz diesel engines. The carrier uses an OM 502 LA 8-cylinder engine (Euromot 2 / EPA 2) rated at 448 kW (600 hp) at 1800 rpm and 275 kpm of torque at 1200 rpm, paired with a ZF AS-Tronic 16-speed mechanical transmission featuring 16 forward and 2 reverse gears. The superstructure uses an OM 904 LA 4-cylinder diesel engine (Euromot 2 / EPA2) rated at 125 kW (170 hp) at 2300 rpm and 660 Nm of torque at 1200 rpm.
Outriggers are 4-point, fully hydraulic, double telescopic types with automatic levelling and monitoring systems. They span up to 8.75 meters, ensuring a stable lift platform. The slewing system uses an axial piston displacement motor with planetary reducer and is capable of 360° continuous rotation. Slewing speed is infinitely variable up to 1.6 rpm under load.
The hoisting system features a main winch with axial piston motor, automatic planetary reduction, and hydraulically controlled disc brake, delivering excellent performance for both lifting and lowering. An auxiliary winch is also available for multi-layer lifting or tag line work. The Superstrop system is integrated to reduce rope sag under load. Load moment protection, hoist limit switches, and holding valves on all hydraulic cylinders enhance operational safety.
Both the carrier and superstructure cabs are constructed from steel and composite materials and are fully enclosed with panoramic safety glass, heaters, and LCD displays. Dual joystick controls allow simultaneous operation of crane functions. The crane runs on a 24V DC system with two batteries and CAN-Bus integration for diagnostics.
With its long boom reach, exceptional road and off-road capabilities, and sophisticated hydraulic and safety systems, the Tadano ATF 230-6 is designed to meet the heavy lifting demands of infrastructure, industrial, and high-rise construction environments.
